1969 Austin MINI CountrymanMark 2

This is my last , and favourite MINI ! This is a 1969 Austin Mini Countryman 1000 MK 2, 2- door wagon (not a van) .I first built this up in 1979, with a strong 998c.c. engine with twin SU carbs on factory manifold with correct Cooper airbox, heatshields,and LCB header. SU electric fuel pump, It has MAMBA alloy wheels, 10"x 6" wide, radial tyres, Quinton Hazell needle bearing drive couplings, Quick release grille buttons, Formuling France;' leather wrapped' steering wheel,and column drop; Smiths tachometer, Paddy Hopkirk vintage gas pedal, Amco crested shift knob, Austin America black vinyl seats on custom adjustable brackets. WINK wide angle mirror. Period bullet exterior mirrors. All glass intact, with some wiper scuffs present(car is 46 yrs old). Floors are rusty , sills are rusty, gas tank leaks above 1/2 full. Included is a spare tank for fitting inside l.r. fender, as in early cars. I am including Brand new ( Made in England) repair panels for : Inner sills, Front floorpans, Rear valance, Left and Right bottom rear corners that attach to valance. Rear subframe is rusty, and I am including new Bottom repair plates for this. Body has the usual collection of nicks and scrapes, and old collision repair in right rear quarter, where a partial repair panel from a donor Mini was let in . Rear load area and spare wheel well are solid . I recently revived this car after some 20 yrs of storage . Recent work includes new water pump and hoses, new flexible clutch hose and slave cyl kit. Brake master cyl kit, New front brake wheel cylinders(4) new front brake flexible hoses, new front brake hard lines between wheel cylinders,new front brake steel line across engine bay , new steel lines at rear wheel cylinders, rebuilt rear wheel cyls, New rear flex hoses included, not yet installed. We live in a high snow fall area, so the Mini has seen little use since 1984. We drive Broncos and Subarus now. I can no longer care for as many cars as I did when younger. This is a rare car ; the last year of this body style with door pockets and sliding windows. A real fun project for the right buyer .This is complete and running, but needs Restoration! This car needs a new home, with smooth, paved roads and Summer Cruise Nights. Minis are Special!
