This is fantastic car, which I've owned for 5 years. It's a reluctant sale. If I wasn't moving to Thailand, I would definitely invest in fixing it up.
I tried to get a safety certificate so I could sell it registered, however, it failed on two counts:
Sometimes it pops out of first gear. To pass safety the gearbox will need to be repaired or replaced.The inspector identified an oil leak, although it must be an exceptionally slow one because it barely uses any oil.
In addition, the remote lock/unlock doesn't work for the driver's door. So you have to press the button (on the keyring gadget), which unlocks every door except the driver's, and disables the alarm. Then the driver's door has to be unlocked with the key.
Other than these issues, the car is clean and in very good condition. It has 2 brand new tyres on it, and an estimated minimum of 10,000km remaining on the other 2.
It comes with a jack, tyre iron, Tomtom sat nav, and good stereo and 6-speaker system (radio, CD, USB/MP3 and iPhone adapter). It also has low profile M3 wheels (shown) which are pretty cool.
The car is extremely fuel-efficient, and the seats are very comfortable. It looks great, and there's nothing better than opening all the windows and the sunroof on a nice day. I love driving it and hopefully you will too!
It's currently registered, but I can't sell it registered without a safety certificate. What I can do is drive it to your house, garage or mechanic, then take off the plates.
