Description
New Pedders suspension upgrade to suit circuit racing. Engine rebuilt by Percat Automotive (Adelaide BMW specialists) inc. new pistons from USA, custom camshaft ground in UK. Although still tight revs to ~7500. 5spd manual. Has done about 250km since rebuild. Body never been in accident and all doors close nice and tight. Has sun roof from new, but I haven't opened it as seal might then leak! New Velo racing seat (ADR compliant). Fire extinguisher is valid. Also have Haynes BMW manual. I have the original owner's books, and the tool box in boot lid was nearly complete. The roll cage professionally built by race engineer and is welded to floor pan, not a bolt-on (CAMS compliant at time of build). A second racing seat for passenger is included but has never been installed; requires mounting made to suit.
NB 1 This engine was built in mind to replace Bosch injection with Weber carb, but this has not been done. Also fitted new extractor, but still feeds into standard exhaust; opening up exhaust will allow engine to develop better power.
NB 2 Although still registered, it is NOT legal to drive on road as is. If rego required it should be taken to get re-plated as a 2 seater (not 4) due to roll cage. Note: This is a SA regulation and could be different in other states. Rear seat and belts have been removed. To get through rego change it will require putting in hazard lights, re-connecting power to heated rear window (elec cable still in place). If rego not required let me know and I'll return plates before delivery.
Also included in sale is most of the original interior, lots of bits and pieces, a second car (see red car photo) which has some rust, an engine, rear end diff etc, brakes, steering and so on but no gearbox. Condition of engine unknown but was bought in case I needed to get a replacement built.
Plus 2 x Getrag gearboxes - condition and origin unknown. I have been told one was ex BMW 323 and the other maybe ex Volvo, but this is uncertain.
Car was taken to Mallala twice during 2014, but work commitments meant no fun during 2015, so I am selling it. This car will form the basis for a great project to finish, but can be used straight away on track if need be. Due to rego situation it will need to be trailered, as obviously will be the red parts car. Much prefer that the buyer takes the whole package. Development cost so far around $15000.
Very, very keen to sell.
