BMW E30 320i Convertible Automatic 1990 Classic Retro Golf mk1

I brought this car with the intension of restoring her keeping the outside looking OEM and replacing the engine with an modern M52 engine & manual boxHowever I have a massive itch for a Tin top Golf mk1 (ideally a GTI) which I need to scratch, so I'm only looking to sell the E30 if I get the asking price or I come across a Golf mk1 within my budget.
The car itself drives really well considering its 25 years old with 140k miles, Mint examples of this model are selling for up to £6-7k, Although this car is not in showroom condition I feel it's a good base for a drivable project and from what I can see requires repair to the rear lower section of the arches and ideally a full respray.
