BMW Receipt for ?2500 The car is incredibly well made with real German quality feel as you would expect from a BMW car. Everything is solid and well-engineered, even 24 years after leaving the factory. Fully Service History up until 167,000 miles (8,000 miles ago).Receipts alone for 8 year period 1997-2005 total more than ?12,200 so this car has been pampered with no expense spared.These are becoming a fast appreciating classic. There are fewer original unmolested examples left on the road. So finding one like this with no modifications is increasingly difficult. These cars are going to rise in value over the coming years. It ALWAYS starts first time. It has oodles of charm, character and style. The car has the 2.5 litre straight six ‘big six’ engine which is really smooth and refined. It’s genesis began with the first e21 building on the notoriety of the ’02 models, and the engine design still exists in the 2.5 and 3 litre production models produced today. The engine is smooth with no smoke, rattles or strange noises. It can realistically be used as an everyday car or just as a weekend cruiser. I once owned a 5 series with the same straight six engine which had covered over 230,000 miles! So the car has covered 175,000 miles, (avg 7,300 per year) but there is a receipt for a brand new engine at 134k, so this new BMW supplied and fitted engine has covered only 41k miles. As a result the engine is superb and pulls very strongly, as you would expect after only 41,000 miles! The gearbox is smooth and changes exactly as it should. Interior is in great condition, as the interior has been re-trimmed in black leather (Receipt for over ?1200)No cracks on dash which is very rare apparently.The re-trimmed seats are in superb condition and do not have the usual rip ands tears which so many other cars suffer from.As with any 24 year old car there are always going to be areas for further improvementbeds and mattress world . Showroom examples (if you can find one) are now fetching ?5K-?10k here on eBay. I think anyone with reasonable expectations will be happy with this car, but please do remember that it is 24 years old . Due to the nature of a 24 year old classic, I would encourage any buyers to come and view the car for themselves, rather than me attempting to list the condition of every nut and bolt via email!These are becoming a much loved classic.All electrics seem to work and the interior is very very good for its age. The car drives well.It qualifies for Classic Insurance, (less than ?150 per year fully comp)The manual hood comes down by simply undoing two clasps above the screen, opening the hood cover and folding under the canopy behind the rear seats, so no electrical mechanisms that can be costly when they go wrong. As you can see from the pictures, it really is very presentable for its age.The Kenwood (CD/iPod compatible/SD card/Bluetooth) head unit is included in the sale, Concours cars are now selling for ?5000 - ?10000, and this one is priced much lower than this! It would be a great example to use everyday. The underside is very solid with no mention of welding required or any corrosion noted on the last MOT advisories.The value of these cars can only go up in the future, especially as this car is one of the few which retain the standard specification. I am confident you will not find one with FSH, a new engine and retrimmed interior, at this price anywhere else.
