Description
For sale is my 2002 BMW 330CI Clubsport in the best
colour combination – Estoril Blue with fully electric and heated Black Nappa
Leather.
If you are after a cheap example of a Clubsport with rusty arches, shabby wheels with budget tyres, basic spec and an automatic gearbox then I will save you some time and advise you to look elsewhere.
If on the other hand you have enough common sense to spend a bit more on a niggle-free example from a genuine enthusiast then please read on.
I purchased the car around 18 months ago – it was family owned for the previous 8 years.
As you can see from the photo’s it’s an extremely clean, rot free example. There are no scratches or dents and the alloy wheels are unmarked.
Mechanically it’s perfect as you would expect from a well maintained BMW. The 3.0 straight six is one of BMW’s most reliable engines (M54). It’s silky smooth and pulls effortlessly in any gear and sounds fantastic.
Most importantly it has a proper manual gearbox that is slick and precise with no crunching or clutch slip.
It is fully HPI clear and although not due until the end of May I’ve just had its MOT’d last week which it flew through with no advisories (even the garage commented on how clean it was!)
The suspension is again in good stead, it has had recent new lower arms, new anti-roll bar links and the front struts were replaced last year with genuine items and the rear springs were replaced around a year old. The alignment was checked and adjusted a few months ago with print out.
Interior is again fantastic condition – it really is like new inside. There is no rips, tears or any excessive wear to the leather. This particular Clubsport benefits from the very rare, optional nappa leather upgrade. Original floor mats present and in good condition. Tool kit in the boot all present and correct.
In the interest of saving you a bit of time I won’t give you the full details of the already extensive standard specification (I can do if required – just give me a call) I will just highlight the following optional extras that were specified from new:
· Harman Kardon 10 speaker sound system – really is a fantastic setup
· Automatic Bi-xenon headlights
· Full black nappa leather interior (£1200 on top of the normal montana leather – much softer and wears much, much better than the standard leather which discolours and goes all wrinkly) seats are fully electric with memory function and heated.
I have added a few tasteful extras which enhance the car further:
· OEM style double din head unit, with Bluetooth, DVD and Sat Nav
· Reversing Camera (hidden within number plate light)
· CCFL angel eyes in original headlights - 6000kto match OEM Xenon’s
· Installed aftermarket heated seat elements into the original Nappa leather interior.
· Facelift rear LED light conversion
· Total closure coded (windows go up and down by holding lock / unlock buttons on fobs)
The car has been superb for me the last year and hasn’t wanted for anything. I’ve very much over-maintained the car (as to be honest I enjoy doing it) so within the last 18 months – 14,000 miles it’s had the following maintenance:
· Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 tyres all round in the correct staggered sizes
· All four alloys split, powder-coated and re-assembled
· Inspection 2 service. Next oil service due in 7k
· New rocker cover gasket
· New fuel filter
· Both front brake calipers replaced with remanufactured items
· New rear springs (SACHS)
· Brake fluid replaced & brakes bled (ATE super blue)
· New handbrake shoes and handbrake adjusted
· Two new front wings as the old ones had begun to bubble (common on E46’s)
· Rear arches undersealed
· Airbag module was replaced by BMW under recall
· Intake pipes replaced
Other recent work prior to my ownership includes but is not limited to:
· Cooling system overhaul – again another weak point on E46’s
· Front wishbone replacement
· Front anti-roll bar links
· Discs and pads all round
The only bad points to the car would be the following:
· Small crack in the front splitter
· A few stone chips to the bumper and bonnet (not really worth mentioning)
· Unfortunately the service book was misplaced by the previous keeper. There is BMW history until 2009 and they will supply a new stamped service book to this date. I have a print out to confirm. Mileage can be confirm through MOT database – again I have a print to confirm this. I do have a folder full of receipts so some would consider this part service history.
Having done some research and given that poorly spec’d high mileage sheds are going for ~ £3.5k and late, low mileage examples are going for ~£7k I’m asking £4450 for the car which I think is fair given the age, mileage condition and recent expenditure - I’m sure you will be able to appreciate that the car owes me much more than this.
I’m open to reasonable offers in person following a viewing however I’m not in a position to accept a part exchange.
Any inspection is welcome - the car nor I have anything to hide and I don’t think you will find a better example of a Clubsport (or any 330CI for that matter) for this price.
I’m sure being a limited edition the Clubsport will at some point be a future classic and values will begin to rise. There aren't many of these on the road today, most of which have power-sapping automatic gearboxes and that god-awful grey interior!
Sorry for the length of the ad – the car has been my pride and joy and I’ve loved every second of my ownership so I could happily talk about it for hours.
I do not want any contact from people “in the trade” making stupid offers - I can assure you I will be willing to waste your time for much longer than you want to waste mine.
The car has had my private plate on it (hence the blurred number plate on the images) – I’ve just retained the number plate so It’s now back to its original registration of DS52 BWD
If you would like to arrange a viewing, or have a chat about the car please get in touch. I'm confident that the first to see will buy.
Cheers
