Description
Up for sale is my 2006 E91 with a stick, this car has been a blast to own but I'm moving. The 3.0L I6 is buttery smooth and it drives great. This version of x-drive is RWD biased, which makes it really fun to drive.
The car itself is mostly unmodified, other than a 50% ceramic window tint and aftermarket OZ wheels with Vredestein tires. Wheels are 17", tires are winter-rated all seasons, 225 width so nothing crazy. Tires have like 10000 miles on them at most, so they should be good for a while. This car is great in the snow, and has never left me stranded or had major issues. I put over 15000 miles on it during my ownership and it was great.
This is a 15 year old BMW, some things are broken. The big ones are:
- The panoramic sunroof doesn't work, and the shade is missing
- The CV boot on the passengers side front knuckle is cracked, and appears to be leaking grease
- I rounded off one of the caliper bracket bolts on the front passenger knuckle, and it will have to be removed with brute force to swap out brake rotors
- the auto-retracting mirrors don't work
- one of the trunk panels is loose
- it has the classic oil pan gasket leak. you won't have to add oil between changes, but may see some drips on your garage floor
- cosmetic defects, mainly paint chips
Here's what I did during my ownership:
- replaced broken cupholders
- replaced radio to fix parasitic drain
- replaced battery
- replaced passenger rear wheel bearing
- installed 1.25" hitch receiver, for bike racks only
- regular oil changes, I have Blackstone reports available. the engine is healthy
- replaced rear differential oil
- replaced air filters
I just changed the oil and brake fluid, so those are fresh. There are no warning lights, the next scheduled service is in 12,000 miles. It has an aux port. All service records, oil reports, spare parts, etc will be provided with the car. I don't have the OE wheels anymore, they were old and bent so I got rid of them.
