Description

On offer here is a 2000 BMW 323i, owned for 8 years and the last 80,000 miles by the same Southern California lady. The car runs great, having just been serviced to ensure the car would make it through smog inspection and to ready it for sale. The engine starts easily, idles well and has good power delivery. The car shifts smoothly though the automatic gearbox.Brakes are good, suspension is ok, but will need front shocks soon. All electrical works with cold AC.The stereo system works well, but the display is pixelated, though easily replaced for $200 or less. The outside temperature displays -40 degrees almost constantly.Wipers work, Bi-Xenon headlights all work.Passenger front indicator is inoperable at the moment. At the time of purchase, the usual BMW head gasket issue was addressed at considerable cost to the dealer of about $4000.At that time the transmission was fully serviced.
Paint on the car is all original and not bad.A good cut and polish will bring it back. The car was involved in an accident when someone drove in to the driver's side, damaging the rear door, rear wheel arch and the B-pillar making the insurance company write the car off.It ran so well, the owner bought it back and carried on driving for a couple of years. There are other scuffs around the car, though nothing major. The glass is excellent all around. The wheels are mostly scuff-free, and have good tires.
The interior of the car is in fair condition. The leather on the seat surfaces are getting a little hard.Seats, carpets and door panels are in need of detailing to remove stains. The dash is good, as is the wood veneer, cracked only on the gear knob. The headliner is sagging on the A-pillar, but is good everywhere else. The car has never been smoked in.
The car drives pretty well and offers cheap transportation for a BMW, having had considerable money spent on it over the years at a local specialist.
