Description

Here we have a 1989 BMW e30 touring for sale. This car was imported from Germany in October of 2014. It started life as a 318i with crank windows, manual steering and no A/C rom the factory. The car has 132,000KM on it which is right around 82,000 miles. The car has gone through many upgrades and modifications to bring it to the state it is in today. Mechanical:
The S52 engine was bought from a wrecked racecar.
The engine was fully rebuilt in early 2014 including piston rings, bearings, and a cylinder head refresh.
It has a TRM tune specifically for this engine setup (OBD1 intake, 21# injectors, etc.)
The exhaust system is entirely from a 1995 e36 M3. Everything is factory except for the flowmaster muffler on the back end. The sound is not too loud but very sporty.
It has a lightweight flywheel and stage 2 clutch. This allows the engine to rev up very quickly.
3.73 LSD
With all these modifications, the car was dyno'd at 240WHP. Needless to say it will keep up with most things on the road in a wagon.
These engines can easily make more horsepower if you want.
Suspension:
Rear end was fully gone through. Subframe and differential bushings replaced with polyurethane pieces from AKG.
These bushings raise the subrame to correct the rear wheel camber. This allows for better handling and better tire wear.
Rear shocks are custom shortened KYB paired with 500# springs.
On the front end, the strut housings are shortened 1.5" with custom shortened KYB strut inserts. Coilover adjusters and 500# springs. Camber plates.
This setup rides incredibly well for a daily driver with the occasional canyon run. If you plan to track the car, I would recommend stiffer springs.
Front sway bar bushings are brand new.
The tires are nearly new Yokohama 205/50/17. They have about 8k miles on them. They grip pretty well or the power. However, being such a large wheel/tire combo it will rub on the fender if turned too far. The fenders are rolled.
Interior:
Seats are in great shape aside from the driver seat. When I bought the car it was spotless, but I sat in it with something in my back pocket and started a tear. You can see in pictures.
One crack forming on the dash where it goes into the "valley". Otherwise very clean.
Rear seats fold down as they should and provides a large space for your hauling needs. If you can't fit something, there is a trailer hitch with wiring adapter. I have used a uhaul trailer a few times with this car and it performs amazingly.
It has a Sony head unit. Works fine. Includes the CD from the Italian fellow who owned the car before me.
Exterior:
Paint is in god shape overall. Some blemishes here and there as expected from a 25 year old car. These blemishes are seem in pictures.
Rust is pretty tame throughout the car. Some bubbling forming in a couple areas (pictures).
Extras included with the car:
Stock catback exhaust system, in case you want the car tame.
Stock intake boot and airbox. It currently has a Mishimoto silicone intake boot and cone filter.
Random e30 parts I find in my garage that could be useful. If you pickup locally, you can rummage through and grab what you want.
The car is registered in Arizona, but resides in Los Angeles. At the moment it is not legal in CA. Everything is there to pass BAR for the swap, I just didn't want to fight the system enough to do it before. I will attempt it whether the car sells or not, but for the time being it will be sold with a clean and clear Arizona title in my name. Emissions should not be an issue in any other state as it has factory exhaust, charcoal canister, etc.
