1992 BMW 318i - Refurbished engine, but has DME or transmission problem.

Have a 1992 BMW 318i for sale.
Car is running but roughly - was in the process of restoring the engine but I don't have time for anymore. Good to pick up cheap and get fixed up, or to strip for parts.
Engine is newly refurbished - has newly installed reconditioned BMW cyclinder head, brand new gasket set and spark plug lead set. All parts are genuine imported BMW. These parts alone are worth around $3000. Have had no km's put on them, only just put in the car.
Also has brand new parts related to the new head - coolant pipes, hoses, nuts/bolds etc.
I have an itemised list of work from BMW on what needs to be done to get it running optimally. Main issue is the car is throwing into limp mode, probably due to a problem with the DME or transmission. Could be an easy/cheap fix.
Everything else under the hood is in a very good state. Rest of the car is in a good state too - brakes, body, interiors etc.
If buying to strip for parts (particularly the new stuff), I'm happy to have you come here and pull them out, rather than taking the whole car. I'm happy to set up towing to a location, especially for Sydney buyers. Car is currently out of rego.
