Description

BMW 523i Auto E39. Mint car.
1 previous owner for 16 years. 81,000 miles. Full BMW Service history up to 70,000 miles. Last one was done during my ownership. I have had it since earlier this year. Car was MOT'd serviced, had new pads and new front wipers only 3 weeks ago. so 12 months MOT on the car.
I think I will go as far as saying this is the very best kept example of an e39 i have ever seen. It has absolutely every piece of history possible including original receipt dating back to October 1999. It had the optional extra steering wheel and seats with lumbar support (why they didn't opt for leather baffles me). It even has receipts from BMW for a molding (just shows what to what extent it was maintained by BMW. Also has parking sensors from factory.
Whilst i have had it i fitted the Rota grid drift wheels which are 18x10 et20 all round with 12mm spacers on the front to fit the coilovers. To fit the e39 the centre bores had to be made to 74.1mm instead of the 72.6 that they normally are, so you can't just buy and fit a set of these wheels to an e39. Tyres are 235/40/18 Barum front and 265/35/18 Bridgestone rear (all good tread). Coilovers i believe are Pro Sport ones but not 100% all i know is i saw on the forum that they are cheap and soft so i got them, they are in-fact very soft for coilovers and for any suspension.
The bodywork is immaculate and if i'm being very picky it has 2x 3mm scratches on the drivers side rear arch and a small scratch on the front bumper right at the bottom on the left. apart from that it is outstanding with no dings whatsoever.
Moving onto the interior: everything works as it should and everything has very minimal wear for an 81,000 mile car. i fitted the headunit that it has after twice failing to retrofit aux to the original cassette player (doesn't have CD changer). i realised that i wasn't a very good electrician and simply fitted this headunit, doesn't look great on this car in my opinion but sounds good and has aux so i was happy. Aircon etc all works perfect.
Engine: Perfect. Do not be mislead by the clean engine bay, it was like this when i bought it, all i done was wipe it with a cloth today. I have never seen an engine bay this clean, let alone on a car this old. every clip is as chrome and shiny as it was when it left the factory. Judging by this and the condition of the bodywork it was always garaged.
One thing that would need attention is the auxillary belt squeaks when cold in the mornings only. When it is warm it is fine, i did plan on having the belt changed but upon further inspection found out that it simply needs tightening so anyone with a halfords toolkit can do it on their drive.
Best part about this car is the intact toolkit in the boot. this is rare to see it there and in this good condition.
This car is absolutely perfect and anyone who see's it will be shocked with how good it is.
Any inspection welcome but i will not entertain silly offers and try-hard's. This is not an advert for a cheap E39, it is priced at what i consider fair considering the condition, wheels and history.
