Description
6 speed V8 E39. Largely rust free car; no rust present in typical E39 "weak" spots. There are a couple of rock chips in the paint which have rusted. 2 keys, owners manual, full size spare tire with matching wheel, one new Bosch O2 sensor, 4 new brake pads and rotors (in box) will be included in the sale. All accessories work well. Car runs and drives very well. I have been daily driving it during most of my ownership. Clutch is in good working order, engine makes great power, drives very, very well. The interior is very clean save for the sunroof cover lining having fallen off (see picture where it is visible). There are no rips or tears in the leather. Mileage will likely increase because I am still driving it. I do NOT have any record or proof the timing chain and guide service has been performed on this car. Please note this is a pre-vanos car. 11/19/2021: Passed NY States Emissions and Safety inspection10/2021: Left rear window regulator replaced
8/2021: Engine oil and filter change. Three oxygen sensors replaced.
7/16/2021: Fuel injection idle air control valve and idle air control valve gasket replaced. Floor mat retainers replaced.
6/8/2021: Drive shaft replaced. Engine oil and filter change. Transmission fluid replaced with redline 75W80 MTL Gear oil
4/9/2021: Replaced positive battery cable connector. Replaced front brake pads and rotors.
3/20/2021: Mount and balance 4 new Kumho PS31 tires. Valve cover gaskets replaced.
1/14/2021: Alternator replaced. Battery replaced.
12/16/2020: Front left and right tie rods replaced. Center link replaced. Radius arm bushings replaced. Control arm bushing kit installed. Left and right tension strut bushings replaced. Radiator and expansion tank replaced.
10/2020: 8 new spark plugs installed. 8 new ignition coils installed.
9/2020: Parking brake cables replaced
3/3/2017: Water pump replaced at 135,988 miles
8/8/2012: Brake fluid flushed at 111,325 miles
Known Flaws:
Engine occasionally ticks when warm, mechanic thinks it's a sticky lifter but I do not have a definitive root cause of this engine noise.
Power steering fluid leak from lines running to fluid reservoir. Reservoir and lines need replacement per my mechanic.
Belts and belt tensioners are squeaking when cold, need replacement per my mechanic.
Air conditioning compressor leaks fluid. A/C works well when fluid is recharged.
Airbag light is illuminated
Check engine light is illuminated
Paint is mostly original and has various scratches, dents, chipping, pitting, etc..
Pixel fading on dashboard but still readable
Sunroof cover headliner fabric has fallen off
CD changer is inoperable
Modifications:
Prior owner removed wood trim in favor of graphite trim in the interior, removed comfort seats in favor of sport seats, removed base model steering wheel for M-sport steering wheel, removed base shift knob in favor of ZHP shift knob, removed base model bumper covers in favor of sport bumper covers. Performance modifications are limited to CARB-compliant AFE cold air intake.
