Description
BMW 1997 E36M52 328i Cabrio Executive. $7100 (firm) 240,000Kms
Service history & maintenance records kept in separate folder.
All motor fluids have been regularly changed with the motor oil & drive train fluids last being replaced in January.
The sump gasket, intake gasket, rocker cover gasket, thermostat, thermostat housing & all drive belts have all been replaced.
The water pump has been upgraded to a Stuart High Flow w/ metal impeller.
Both front and rear shocks have been replaced with Bilstein B4’s.
All front and rear suspension bushings were replaced including new tie rods & control arms.
The stock 2.93:1 differential has been replaced with an M3 4.1:1 Shimmed LSD.
The front discs are slotted and the Ferodo pads still have plenty of wear left in them.
Battery has been replaced and a new 120Amp Alternator has been installed.
The leather interior is in good condition overall especially the back seats, the front drivers seat is the only real let down as the seat has split about 15cm under the thigh, nothing too drastic though it never bothered me enough to have a trimmer fix it.
The fully automated soft top roof still works great and functions as it should, it just needs a new tension strap to stop the back coming down too firmly.
The soft top canvas is still in good condition considering it’s age and repels the water well but the right front corner seal will need replacing soon as there is a small drip developing.
I had the rear PVC window completely replaced last year with a new one that has been hard stitched (not zipped), which has also greatly increased its security, strength and sealing as opposed to the old ‘Zip In’ windows that tend to weaken and leak easily with age.
The inside headliner has come away from the framing in the rear corners either side of the window but is otherwise still in good condition.
The audio has had a major upgrade to an Eclipse head unit with I-Pod, USB and Bluetooth hands free connectivity. New Xtreme front tweeters, door and kick panel speakers running off an amp in the boot. There is also a sub mounted in the ski pass between the back seats controlled by a bass dial in the drivers console which looks and sounds perfect.
The exterior has a small scratch/dent on the rim of the rear left wheel well panel where it meets the bumper and has a trolley chip on the other sides panel about the size of a finger nail (Bloody shopping mall car parks!) but otherwise the paintwork looks great.
Both front and rear bumpers have been completely replaced, the car has had the standard yellow indicators replaced with more attractive clear lenses and the headlights upgraded with Blue Angel Eyes.
The Tyres still have a good amount of their tread being just under a year old.
She has a beautiful looking set of 18” Dino rims that although have a few gutter scrapes, seriously compliment her style. She drives and handles beautifully as a BMW should and I have done my best to ensure she keeps driving well for many years yet.
Selling due to need for SUV, very regretful sale.
