Description
This is a German Mustang - Classic BMW 635csi -1985 10 Months NSW Registration - New 19inch Bmw wheels ,No reserve - May swap for cruiser motorcycle eg Triumph,Harley Classic German autobahn muscle car of the 1980's with
beautiful lines! Fully registerable British import Euro model 635Csi first
registered in Croydon on the 16/1/86.
It is NSW registered , Has new water pump, and A/c Drier, Brand new 19inch Bmw wheels and tyres as well as the original Trx wheels, Interior and leather has been shampooed and conditioned,Stereo installed with ipod connection, New Tinted windows, New brakes,Calipers, and fully serviced ready to drive and enjoy,
Please open each picture and you can move around in each enlarged photo. Car is extremely complete with one of the best beige leather interiors (the nicest out of the lot) Front driver seat has light wear to the panel closest to the door and a small rubbed hole about 1 and a half cm across. Rear seats look almost unused. Judging by the condition of the seats I would say they spent the majority of their lives under sheepskins. Dash, almost always cracked is excellent no cracks as is the steering wheel. The dash is spotless and no nasty silicon spray has been used to make it look good. Cubby looks like it was seldom used, almost like new. Has one of the first on board computers with perfect LED display in red, no missing pixels. On right has a full systems diagnostic, no warning lights on. No rust around window seals or sunroof like normal European cars. Doors close solidly like bank vault doors as they should. No accident damage I can see but no expert. Car has a huge service history from new/first owner including major items changed. Original log book, original BMW main dealer stamps and dealer handbook plus every inspection cert since new. Never smoked in judging by the unused ashtrays and zero smoke smell which is very unusual for a 1980's car. Well cared for inside with surprisingly very little wear and tear for age.
Car was fully registered in England up was shipped it from Southampton last year and still has UK MOT (rego). Very good suspension, bounces straight back, on driving it good gear change and power steering. Feels tight without the wallowing older cars can have. Put the car on a jack and checked the front suspension for ball joint movement: no movement. All power windows and both mirrors which was major for 1985 and top spec (the bottom model had winders on both doors and sunroof). Has the expensive and all essential air conditioning option (Has the working power sunroof which was also an expensive optional extra at the time. Headlining in ok condition.
Has macho 15" BMW BBS wheels (original had 14") and M6 wheel arches. Original full tool kit (some tools are a bit rusty) plus unopened shrink-wrapped original BMW first aid kit and untouched original jack. Boot carpets and side panels in very good condition and will also come up even better after another clean. Chrome and stainless steel bumpers and trims not perfect but very good. Plastic front grille very good with a few stone dings in the stainless surround. Rubbers around doors and windows and boot lid extremely good. The upside of a Euro import is that they don't have the sun damage and warping to plastics and rubber like Aussie cars get from the heat or the crumbly plastic we get here. Side chrome and rubber trims all there and good. Air dam spoiler on front very good and uncracked unlike many that split between the holes.
Drives well and blows no smoke nor can I see any oil leaks that drip. Revs easily and smoothly. Only comment is idle is a little lumpy but it needs a service and tune as I think it has been used very little over the past 10 years. . These German motors could do hundreds of thousands of km/s trouble free. It has done 243,000km/s in 28 years which is less than the average 10K per year. Car definitely needs a new muffler. Paint is fair to good on the majority of the car but mediocre in others as expected from age and being nearly 30 years old especially on the boot lid and tops of the wings. Engine bay needs detailing as it has the patina of a European car driven on European roads. Bit of surface rust on the very bottom of the rear skirt and panel below the rear lights has some touch ups from stone chips and one or two areas as expected for age with some small repairs not all of them perfect. Everything works except the right hand rear power window and a couple of other minor things like the front wipers on the lights which might just be a fuse.
Car is sold as is and has been described to the best of my ability. All documentation will be supplied. With its gorgeous lines reminiscent of it's older cousin the BMW 3000, these beautiful now classic cars are becoming very uncommon in Australia and sell for up to $25,000 and are becoming as desirable as the 3000 over time unlike any other BMW of this age unless it's an M. This is an older car, not a fully restored one and is in fair to good (not very good or excellent) condition and you can either drive it as a daily driver or spend some money on it and either way it will be a great investment. Apart from the small repairable area on the drivers seat, interior is very crisp and not limp, ripped and faded like most other cars of this age. This is not a perfect car so please don't bid if you are expecting to drive off in a concourse show car. Needs very very minor work. Must be collected from Homebush bay at your cost. Please come and inspect and do your own research and due diligence. For this small price you have the ability to fix what needs fixing and make this into an excellent example. Car is priced to sell and is sold as is without guarantee.
What's the most outstanding feature about this car? Having just cleaned it properly I have to say the interior is fantastic apart from the wear and hole in one panel of the drivers seat. I don't know how the carpets survived in this condition but they are very very good as is the leather. Very soft high quality especially the rear seats. Near perfect dash and centre console for age. It would be hard to find a near 30 year old car with an interior like this and re trimming would cost at least $3000 by itself.
I would look at getting it resprayed in the future , other then that its a fantastic car which is fully registered in NSW
Bid to buy not inspect or you will be reported, Check my feed back , I dont sell crap
