Description

Selling the best car I ever owned. Sadly I can't take it to New York with me and I need the money for the move plus my wife doesn't drive stick.
The good:
Carbon Black Metallic is more like "black at first glance but when the sunlight hits it, it glows navy blue
Gorgeous, saddle leather interior. I think it was originally called cinnamon. I looked forever for this color combination 5 years ago when I bought it. Still gets endless compliments.
Powertrain is strong and has been problem free from day 1, only a small occasional hesitation on idle when cold probably due to an old air flow sensor. Doesn't affect a thing.
Low miles (92.5K miles) esp for a 12 year old car. Honestly it has fewer miles because I recently found out that the speedo reports ~4-5% faster than your actual speed. I'm sure this has saved me from speeding tickets.
Handles like a brand new car with the newer tires. Still ~85% life left
It's a stick shift. I test drove the SMG automatics before buying this and they were terrible. This is a proper driver's car.
AC is nice and cold
Heated seats
No accidents when I did a CarFax 5 years ago and none since I've owned it
Airbags replaced under Takata recall
The Bad - mostly cosmetic issues:
Convertible top has a couple tears where the hinges rub against it on the interior when it's going up and down.
Drivers seat bolster has 1 inch tear in the leather from wear over the years
Right rear has body damage from when I bounced off my neighbor's tire which was turned all the way out in our tight garage. Never got around to getting it fixed, and honestly it's easy to overlook.
Left front chin spoiler has a paint chipped out
Left wing mirror is loose
Stereo volume control is only reliable from the steering wheel control
Other parking lot dings and small scratches which are normal for a 12 yr old car.
Premium unleaded only
Maintenance that you won't have to do:
Recently replaced water pump, thermostat, and timing belt
Convertible top motor
Various seals and bushings which wear out over time.
Tires
Oil changes with BMW's special oil designed for M cars
I recently got a free inspection at BMW SF and they reported back that the rear differential had a minor leak and a front sway bar bushing could use replacement. All optional and do not affect safety in any way. I've had the same mechanic the whole time in SF and I have all the maintenance records for that time period.
