Description

Greetings friends,My BMW dealer informs me that 90% of the M3's on the road are leases. Any true enthusiast can easily spot these as they are all stock and boring and look like bragging chariots for executives who just want to have an ///M badge on the side of the car. However, if you know what a real M3 should look and sound like, then you have found the perfect car for you.
I am the second owner. Upon purchase, I confirmed through BMW that the first owner was a lease and kept perfect maintenance records. I bought this car bone stock and added each modification after detailed research while trying to keep a stylish but tasteful look in mind. No modification was performed that sacrificed street comfort. Allow me to detail the highlights:
BMW ZCP Competition Package: This is a factory option from BMW. The Competition Package immediately shows itself with the 19" alloy wheels that simply complete the look of the BMW M3. They are wider by half an inch and pushed the outside edges of the wheel well, giving the car a wide, aggressive stance. The suspension is slightly reworked for better handling and sits the car 0.4 inches lower than stock.
Electronic Damping Control: Three settings allow you to choose the responsiveness of the suspension. Soft for the street comfort, hard for the twisties and one in between because German engineers believe in a minimum of three choices.
SMG Auto-manual Transmission: For those that are not familiar with BMW SMG transmissions, here is the basic breakdown: You can drive this car fully automatic. In automatic mode, you have 5 settings to set how aggressively the throttle responds, how quickly and at what RPM range the shifts will occur. In truth, there are actually 6 settings, the last of which is only available if you disable Traction Control. Simply nudge the shifter to the right and you are in auto-manual mode. You will then be able to select from the 7 gears by either nudging the shifter up/down or using the paddles behind the wheel (all without a clutch pedal). All down shifts are rev-matched, meaning you experience a tasty blip on each down shift and let me tell youwith the exhaust in the open setting, the resulting sound will send the weak-willed running for cover. Speaking of the exhaust
Dual Stage Selectable Exhaust: Professionally installed by my local exotic race shop, the car has a selectable exhaust. Installed in between the catalytic controllers and the mufflers are a pair of solenoids with butterfly valves connected to a pair of short dump exhaust tips. Controlled by a switch next to the steering wheel, you can open or close the exhaust, allowing you to be stock quiet or race car loud. The loud exhaust sounds amazing. It is not overwhelming at any point. Even under tame driving, it will simply sound like a clean aftermarket exhaust. However, under wide open throttle, it will destroy any exhaust you've ever heard and sounds like an ALMS GT race car. When you (or the wife) are not in the mood to be loud, simply close the exhaust (it takes 6 seconds) and it will transform back to stock quiet. This exhaust perfectly compliments the dual nature of the M3, being luxury when you want it or racey when you want it. This will not impact smog emissions whatsoever. The bypass only skips the muffler, not the cats.
Vorsteiner Carbon Fiber Bits: As you may know, the M3 already comes with a carbon fiber roof from the factory. However, what sets this M3 apart from the rest of the filth out there are the tasteful addons to the body. I've always found the underpinnings of the stock front and rear bumpers to look incomplete. Maybe it's all the GT racing I watch? These bits complete the look of the M3 and after seeing this car, you will look at stock M3's and see how naked and plain they appear. Again, all installs were professionally performed by my local exotic race shop. Starting up front, the carbon fiber front lip looks amazing and has brake duct inlets. However, at the time of install, we chose not to install tubing the route the inlets to the front brakes. However, you may still certainly do it yourself. There are a few scrapes on the bottom of the lip, as expected, nothing that detracts from the looks from the gawking public. Under the rear bumper is the carbon fiber rear diffuser, craftily wrapping around the exhaust tips without any contact. The trunk lid is carbon fiber however has been painted to match the factory BMW white, excluding a small strip around the rear edge. I still have the factory trunk lid (flawless) and will of course include it with the sale of the car.
3M Clear Bra: Again, professionally installed, this time by the local vinyl wrap shop. This clear, protective layer covers the car from rock chips, road rash and miscellaneous treachery from everyday life. At any point, it can be safely removed without disturbing the paint. The parts covered are: the entire front bumper (excluding the carbon fiber lip), the entire hood (excluding the air scoops of course), the headlights, the rocker panels underneath the doors, all four areas directly behind the wheels in a semi-circle arc, the front of the side mirrors, the small top shelf on top of the rear bumper directly in front of the trunk.
Stoptech Big Brake Kit: The factory M3's most room for improvement were the brakes. The Stoptechs are huge, incredibly strong and look amazing. However, you would never know they are any different from stock until you really stomp on the brake pedal. They are not touchy, they are not oversensitive. They are simply an amazing improvement over factory. And of course, they look amazing, separating this M3 from the stock leases out there.
Factory Warranty: The transferable BMW warranty is 4 years and 50,000 miles. I read that starting with 2015 models, BMW will no longer allow transferable warranties. This obviously does not apply to this car, so no need to panic. The current mileage is 37,xxx. This is not my daily driver but I won't have it sitting in the garage until it sells. I will drive it once or twice a week to enjoy the greatest car I have ever owned. I doubt the mileage will creep up too far.
Location: I am located in Southern California, just north of Los Angeles. If you are local, we can set up a time for you to come see (and hear!) the car. If you are not local, all shipping arrangements and costs will be prepared for and paid by the buyer (that's you). However, I can assure you that I will work with your shipping company and transport professional to the best of my ability to make the transport as painless as possible.
If you have any questions about the car, please feel free to ask. This is a one-of-a-kind M3 and I guarantee you will not find its equal. I have all service records, all aftermarket receipts and installation records and of course will include the factory trunk lid with purchase. It has been impeccably maintained, cleaned and cared for. This is by far my most favorite vehicle I have ever owned and the love shows. Thanks for looking.
