Here we have my lovely rare Imola Red E46 M3. FSH, Stacks of paper work (A whole folder). Selling due to needing something a little more practical. P/X possible (E92 only 325d/330d/335d or E60 525d/530d/535d, Mercedes C or E Class CDI Sport, AMG package would be nice)

Vanos Removal and Rebuild, Repair kit £170 + The diaphragm springs £70 with documented pictures
Replacing the diaphragm spring with a new one is often needed to fully resolve the rattle. This diaphragm spring design is used on the S54 and S62 engines. On the S54 engine the part number is 11-36-7-830-684.
Whole new overkill reinforced subframe rebuild and structural resin with documented pictures and videos by a local engineering company. Total garage hours exceeding 70 at considerable cost.
So after purchasing the car and having many discussions with Reddish (brilliant company) and very happy to help so i purchased some of their reinforcement plates £190. The local engineering company looked at the plates and between us they recommended an increase in plate size and design. Additional plates were installed to the rear axle floor and also within the boot section to ensure all panels were connected. It would be far easier explaining where it has been welded in person rather then me explaining here. I will leave my number for further enquiries regarding the subframe and vanos rebuild. I can also give the local engineering companies details if you wish to speak directly with them.
This is now possibly one of the most rigid M3s on the road. Since the vanos change, she runs really smooth, idles great and is now responsive and pleasant to drive with no rattle from the vanos anymore!
There are a few little things that need tweaking that i now haven't the time to sort:
Rear parking sensor needs replacing (Range rover ones fit this £20)
The traction control sensor on the front drivers side possibly needs a clean or replacing due to occasional traction control error
Please remember the car is not brand new and has age related marks

I have a price in mind, The car has had two of the most costly failures fixed on these cars that go wrong!

This car will be very very strong and smooth running for years to come with out faults from the vanos or subframe failure. Huge reassurance when it comes down to buying a E46 M3, Reddish would have charged £5,500 to fix this subframe issue, being that it was a convertible the labour was a lot more.
