Description
Welcome to my listing
I am selling my 2002 (52 reg) BMW X5 4.6is as I have recently treated myself to a newer model. I've owned this car for nearly 6 years now & I can honestly say it's the best car I have owned so far. I have owned it since it had 55k miles in 2008 & I am the 4th owner since new. I do not smoke & have no dogs so the interior is very clean as a consequence.
The X5 has been serviced fully throughout (All by BMW dealerships except for the past 3 which were done by a local German car specialist - last one only done a couple of months ago). It has recently had 2 new rear tires, new front brake discs, new ball joints, anti roll bar link arms, brake pipes, parking sensors & more. The last MOT which was done in October 2013 picked up a few advisory notices (including an oil leak from a broken sump plug). All of these items were addressed after the MOT was completed so hopefully it should fly through it's MOT again this year!
I had the X5 converted to LPG within months of buying it at a cost of over £2000. I have also registered the Vehicle as an "Alternative Fuel Vehicle" with the DVLA which attracts a small discount on the road tax (Last year was £270 to cover till 28/02/15)
Here are some of the good bits of the X5:
- Electric Windows all round
- Electric Sunroof
- Full black heated leather seats (including heated rear seats which my newer X5 doesn't even have!)
- 22" BMW Style alloy wheels
- Electrically adjustable steering wheel
- Updated Angel eye headlights by Depo (These are the same quality as those from BMW, not like other cheap aftermarket solutions)
- Satellite Navigation
- Built in TV (Does not have a digital tuner but there is an Aux input at the rear of centre console for connecting an external device)
- BMW M binnacle (Same as M3 - tells you when the oil is up to temperature)
- OMVL LPG Conversion with 90 Litre Tank & Installation certificate (Note that the boot floor has been raised by an inch or so to accommodate the larger tank for better fuel range of 250-300 miles)
- Both sets of BMW Keys
- Cargo netting which can be fixed to act as a dog guard for the boot, or with the rear seats down can be fixed behind the driver/passenger to convert the vehicle into a Van.
- Electrically adjustable front & rear seats
- Parking sensors front & back
- Remote central locking with total closure (The windows & sunroof can be opened or closed with the keyfob)
- Xenon headlights
- 6 CD Changer in the boot & iPod / iPhone adaptor in the glovebox (Note: Only one can be connected at a time to the head unit) & upgraded DSP amp.
There are far more features of the X5 I may have missed but if you come to see the car for yourself you will find out everything about it.
There are a few minor issues with the X5, including a couple of age related marks including one small mark on the bottom part of the front bumper which you can hardly see, a few spots of rust on the bootlid (again, you have to look close to see) & a couple under the tailgate near the lights. The drivers seat bolsters are also a little warn & the alloy wheels have the odd kerb mark. The body work is in excellent condition overall & I'm glad to say not a single shopping trolley mark or ding has been found anywhere on the car (I always park away from other cars wherever possible).
The car drives beautifully & feels like a car that's half the age/mileage. There is a small niggle with the LPG system where the power seems to be delayed when under hard acceleration, but to be honest it hasn't really bothered me as I can simply switch to petrol at the press of a button then again to go back to LPG after (The engine is much more responsive running on Petrol anyway, as any LPG specialist will tell you this is normal).
I had the X5 HPi checked prior to purchase & I bought it cash so I know there won't be any problems for the next buyer in that respect.
I have described the car honestly & fairly as I can but please bear in mind this is an 11 year old car & there are the odd age related mark. The X5 is available for any inspection but if you want to drive it you must prove you are fully insured to do so.
This car has been my pride & joy for 6 years with stacks of receipts to show how much it has been cared for. It currently has a private registration on it which is currently being removed by DVLA (Should be completed in the next few days)
You will not find another X5 of this spec cheaper anywhere else in the country so please do not send me any offers to swap, part exchange or silly offers. This is my lowest price & I will not be budging!
