Up for auction is my BMW X5 3.0 Litre Turbo Diesel on a 51 plate
The car has mot until November 2nd 2015
I bought the car with a known gearbox fault and was told it only ran in sports mode. I drove the car 156 miles home and the car ran smoothly and drove mint.
The next day I took the car out of sports mode and since then the car will not drive. I have had the car plugged in and it comes up as solenoid 1 & 2 issue. i.e 1st and 2nd gear. It may be an easy fix for the right person but a change in my circumstances forces the sale.
I have traced the history of the car and have since obtained invoices for it for works completed last october. The work is as follows:
Full fluids changed (obviously not the grearbox as BMW guarantee gearbox oil for a life time) Not that this is the case obviously
New Turbo
Nearside rear lower suspension arm bush
Offside rear lower suspension arm bush
Rear discs and break pads
Nearside front break hose
Near side front break pipe
Offisde front break pipe
All of the above work was carried out at a garage that have agreed to send me a copy of the invoice and full list of works carried out in previous years by them. I will have this before the auction ends.
The car has only 4 owners from new. The original owner having the car for 14 years. I am the 4th owner and the other 2 owners had the car for a few weeks only
It is obvious that the car has been well cared for for most of its life and this sale is very reluctant.
The obvious issues are the gear box and interior. Unfortunatly a tin of paint appears to have exploded in the back causing spray over the seats and some door cards. This could be removed with thinners but my plan was to purchase new seats which are available on ebay for 100 to 150 pounds in cream leather.
The car starts first time every time and the engine is sweet as a nut.
