Description
Hello and welcome to the sale of my beloved BMW X5 4.6is in stunning metallic silver.
This car has clearly been cherished all its life and this was obvious to me when I viewed her the first time. I searched far and wide and encountered many neglected, poorly maintained examples until I came across this one.
This is a real drivers car. It has bags of power and refinement and was a joy to drive on a trip last year to Center Parcs in Penrith. Sadly, she simply doesn't get used much as she was bought as a weekend car and now is used for a 10 mile commute, and this amount of car is simply not justifiable for this purpose. It pains me but it's time for her to move on and be enjoyed by the next lucky owner.
I could yarn on endlessly about this beast but it's probably better if I stick to bullet points!
Ok here goes
Automatic 4.6 litre V8 with 352bhp.
Engine built by 'Alpina' BMW's own tuner.
Sports mode gear select.
Full BMW service history and upto date with servicing using service logbook.
Last serviced at @5k miles ago.
Logbook complete in original leather case and rechargeable BMW torch still present in glovebox.
BMW first aid kit (untouched) under passenger front seat.
This 'flagship' model includes the same dials as the legendary 'M5' very special indeed.
106k miles.
Mot til 14/2/2016.
19" alloys in great condition, hardly any scuffs.
Silver metallic paintwork in excellent condition for its age. Obviously there are a few stonechips but overall it's in spectacular shape!
I've upgraded the front lights to 'Angel eyes' and fitted brand new complete updated rear clusters (original ones suffer from contact issues.)
Self-levelling sports suspension enables this big car to handle unbelievably well.
Full soft black leather upholstery, religiously cleaned and treated and is near perfect.
3 stage heated front seats, perfect for winter as it also heats the backrest!
Ultra-rare 'Comfort Seats' (distinguishable by headrest shape), are a huge improvement on the standard seats and are the most comfortable I've ever sat in, great for long trips.
Fully electric front seats with 3 memory settings.
Automatic rain sensing wipers.
Automatic lights.
Satellite Navigation. (Monitor does have small amount of dead pixels but these are only on the very top and very bottom and don't stop viewing pleasure, unlike most examples if you've looked)
The dash readout is perfect with no dead pixels as I had it repaired locally.
Fully working TV (upgraded to digital) - no expense spared.
Rear view camera (works perfectly), image comes up on monitor when shifting to reverse.
iPod/iPhone aux cable fitted.
Original 6 disc cd changer.
Auto dimming rear view mirror.
One-touch up and down on all 4 windows.
Auto dipping wing mirror when selecting reverse.
Sports silver interior trim, not your usual boring wood.
Steering wheel mounted audio controls.
cruise control.
Electrically adjustable steering wheel.
Front and rear parking sensors.
Rear load cover present and in good condition.
Full set of 'summer' mats.
Full set of 'winter' rubber mats.
New battery fitted last year.
New water pump & fan assembly recently fitted.
Plenty of tread left on tyres.
2 remote keys.
No cambelt to worry about as all bmw's have chains (incase you were wondering!)
HPI clear - something I do before I buy any car. Save your money!
It's obvious this car has been well looked after as soon as you see it. Turn the key and the automatic ignition fires her V8 into life and the Rev counter lights up ready (shared only with the mighty 'M5' which should give you an indication to its sporting credentials)
If like me you were considering the 4.4ltr engine, the fact that Alpina gave this engine an overhaul and used their knowledge to produce this variant gave me further confidence when purchasing a large engined BMW motor. This car runs perfectly and in my opinion is the safer option than the 4.8 model, as it does not come with the unreliable sunroof or the equally bad electrically adjustable suspension!!! Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing!
This is a private sale and to confirm to buy is to confirm that you want to buy this car, not just turn up and decide it's not for you. I would suggest that you come to view this car before you bid so you know exactly what you're getting for your money. I'd appreciate you don't mess me around as if you are serious you'd do your research before you decide to buy. Make no mistake, these cars are now very affordable but do still like ALL other cars require upkeep and servicing. This was a 'flagship' model and will cost more than a lesser car to maintain. I believe new, this X5 was circa £65k!! I have kept this car fully upto date with servicing and replaced anything that needed replacing. This car has been loved by me and the previous owner had her serviced 4 times by Porsche in London.
If you are going to come take a look and take her for a test drive I will need to see a valid driving license and insurance certificate. You will need to give me adequate notice and I'm only available on the weekends/evenings. I live between Southampton and Portsmouth so let me know if you'd like to arrange a viewing.
I do not include any warranty. She will be sold as seen.
Included in the sale is the original front and rear light clusters that I've taken off should you wish to revert back to them, not that you're likely to when you see these tasteful improvements.
Once you commit to buy, I will email you with instruction to pay £300.00 by way of bacs transfer or cash given, within 24 hours (non refundable).
The remainder of the balance is to be paid in full in cash or a further bacs payment, where upon the funds clearing, the V5 signed over and the keys to the beast given!
I'm sorry but I really don't wish to be messed about as I don't mess about with others!
Feel free to ask any questions, I shall do my best to answer them.
Thank you for looking!
