Description
NO RESERVE!
This is a one owner, completely stock, factory 1968 Buick Electra 225 Limited hardtop sedan. A survivor. The car runs and drives beautifully and is an excellent daily driver; however, in order to be a true show car, it will need some restoration. A bit of background--I picked this vehicle up from a gentleman who acquired it from an estate sale, the original owner having purchased it new in 68 and kept it through 2013 upon his death. It hadn't been driven for several years up until the point I purchased it. I've driven it about 500 miles (once on a very long trip) without any issue.
Because I believe in being completely transparent about selling a vehicle to someone else, here is the full disclosure on this vehicle's needs:
1. AC works, the compressor turns, pipes do not leak, but the air blows cool rather than ice cold.
2. Wipers and motor work fine, but the washer pump and rubber tubing need replacing.
3. Radio works, but the volume on the speakers is very low.
4. All power windows work, but the right front passenger power window is slightly off its track and closes awkwardly. It will, however, seal shut properly as it should.
5. Brakes are very good, but one of the drums makes a slight clicking noise. Probably needs an adjustment.
6. The paint is mediocre and blemished on the hood. To be a show car, it will need a full repaint, particularly on the trunk lid (see pics).
7. Most body panels are perfectly fine with no rust through, but both front lower fenders do have rust through (see pics).
8. No engine oil leaks, but there is a slight transmission leaklikely an old gasket needing replacement.
9. Power bench seat does not work. There is power going to the motor, but I think the gear needs cleaned and greased in order to be operable.
Everything else is great. Starts and runs fine, has plenty of power, vinyl top is excellent, the interior is perfectly immaculate, and the car is just all out a joy to drive.
If I'm being perfectly honest, I absolutely adore this car, so frankly speaking, I could not care less if I sell itBUTsince I have four other vehicles and I'm getting a ton of pressure at home to "make space," sadly, it must go. My loss is your gain. I'm happy to answer questions if you have them.
Buyer responsible for pickup. Deposit must be received within 48 hours of winning the auction.
Note: There is condensation on the car in the pics, so it muddles the look of the finish and the vinyl roof (the latter of which is in excellent condition).
