DESCRIPTION
I have decided to sell my 2003 Buick Park Avenue Ultra here on eBay and offer it at NO RESERVE! I have decided to do a no reserve auction so I only have to list the vehicle once and not list it over & over trying to obtain a reserve price that may never be met.
The original Virginia owner purchased this Buick brand new in late summer of 2003 from Farrish Pontiac-GMC-Buick in Fairfax, VA. They owned it from 2003-2020 before trading it back on another new Buick. I purchased it as the second owner about a year ago from a dealership here in Richmond, VA. I chose this particular car because my wife & I needed an extra car as she has a full size suv and I have a two door car. We wanted a full size luxury type car that wasn’t too fancy and not too expensive when we found this one for sale. It had all the best options and an exceptional pedigree as well. It also has a perfect Carfax with no accident history and 45 service records. I learned it was owned by an older couple from Fairfax, VA who took it to the Buick dealer anytime they heard a squeak or anything at all it went right to the Buick dealer. This is what I call “overmaintained”, but its still nice to know they maintained it with an open checkbook! I paid a little over $10,000 with all the taxes and fees which seemed like a very fair price for this Buick.
This Buick has been just the perfect extra car since I purchased it last year. It always starts right up, it drives fantastic and has plenty of power too since it is the Ultra Supercharged model. All of the power features & accessories work great too, it has nice cold a/c, all of the power windows, locks, sunroof, seats, heads up display, stereo, cruise, etc. all function correctly. But one day this Spring when I went to go start it I heard an engine rattle / knocking noise. I didn’t think much of it and went along with my day. However I heard it again the next time I started it about a week later & decided to have it looked at.
I took it to my usual service shop that has serviced my families cars for years so I know I can trust them. They never try to sell me extra work I don’t need. They called me back the next day & said there is a “ROD KNOCK NOISE COMING FROM THE LOWER ENGINE” and I basically had two choices. I could spend about $1,500-$2,000 and replace the parts that they believe are causing the noise or just replace the engine with a used or re-manufactured engine. I told them I appreciate it but I am going with my 3rd option which is to sell it & let someone else deal with it! The funniest part is the dealer offered me the option of a 3 year extended warranty and I said “Oh ill be fine, it has such low mileage I am not worried about any major repairs” Of course now I wish I spent the money for the warranty, but oh well, that’s just the way it goes.
The exterior is in good overall condition. The paint looks good and has a nice shine to it. There are no dents, but there are some minor door dings here and there. The bumper corners have some scuffs on them as well that you can probably see in the pictures. The factory chrome plated wheels are riding on a matched set of 4 Continental All Season Tires that are all in great condition with plenty of tread remaining. They say a pictures is worth a thousand words so I included many pictures in this listing.
The interior is also in good overall condition. The leather seats look nice, the dash is clean, and the carpets & floor mats look fine too. A couple of minor things I want to point out. There are some cigarette burns on the front carpets from the original owner (I am a non smoker). Also there are some small carpet stains in the back seat area (coffee?) that should show up in the pictures. Again, take a look at all of the pictures to get an accurate portrayal of this Buick.
Finally, this is a great car that just needs some engine repair. I would NOT recommend driving this car any significant distance as this is what my mechanic told me. So the buyer should plan on bringing a trailer to take this Buick home or arrange for a shipper to transport it to you. I think that pretty much covers everything. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask them through eBay messages and I will get back to you as soon as I see it.
DEPOSIT / PAYMENTS / LEGAL STUFF
Once the auction is over I will require a $250 non refundable deposit to bind the transaction via Paypal. I will not accept Paypal for the balance, just the deposit. Buyer is to pay in full within 5 days of the close of the auction. Once it is paid for in full I can store it as long as you need.
I have clear title to this vehicle (no bank loan to payoff) and will sign it over to the new owner once the transaction is completed. I will accept cash only. Absolutely no checks, no credit cards, no crypto currency, etc. you get the idea.
Like all used vehicles on eBay this one too is sold as-is / where is. The buyer assumes all responsibility for any repairs or defects that may occur now or in the future. There is no warranty expressed or implied either. Bidders are welcome to come see & inspect the vehicle during the auction process.
When you come in person to pick up this car I highly recommend you bring a trailer as driving this car could cause further engine damage. And finally I think I am pretty easy to deal with so I will do my best to help out any way I can to make this a quick and painless transaction for myself and for the new owner.
