Description
*1966 BUICK RIVIERA ORIGINAL GS*
**DUAL QUAD SUPER WILDCAT**
***425 NAILHEAD ENGINE***
Of the 45,348 Buick Rivieras produced in 1966, only 4,837 had the GS package (heavy-duty suspension, PY code performance axle ratio with positive traction, sportier transmission, chrome air cleaner, aluminum valve covers, and GS badging). The L Code “Shadow Turquoise” is not only one of the years most excellent paint color, it is also extremely rare with only 1372 (% of run) produced. Very few are still around in operation today with this magnificent factory color. The exterior is complimented in combination with black “Strato” bucket seats and desirable aviation inspired horseshoe shifter console. The interior sports an elegant “wood” custom steering wheel, installed in 4,171 (%) Rivieras produced in 1966. Because this vehicle has no vinyl top, it shows off the stunning rear fastback sloping design and does not come with the potential rust issues a covered top brings. Crowning this muscular luxury vehicle is the infamous Super Wildcat dual-quad-barrel setup, which brings serious get-up-and-go with boosted horse power.
This rare garage kept Buick was the 36,373rd vehicle off the production line in 1966 and runs, drives, stops well today.
Available with this vehicle is a set of steel wheels and excellent restored set of the one off year '66 Turbine wheel covers. Extra parts included are an NOS in box hazard light flasher, BS Transmission, spare chrome wheel in trunk, and others; a service manual, sellers manual, owners manual, color and trim dealer set, and other literature also.
