Description
1965 Buick Riviera with 71,589 original miles, I’m the 3rd
owner (I bought it in 1996) and I know the history/ownership of the car from
day 1. Garage kept and located in the
Cincinnati area its entire life. It would
be an excellent car for someone to just tinker with and have a nice looking and
driving classic. Or it is a solid candidate
for a full restoration, to bring to shows and such. It did have a “so-so” repaint sometime in the
1980’s and I don’t believe it is the original Buick 1965 Flame Red code “R”
paint. Close, but the original looks to
have been a bit darker, judging by the parts that were not repainted under the
hood and such. The chrome is all in
excellent condition. The black Vinyl
interior is in great condition with no tears or rips in any of the seats. About the only thing noticeable on any of the
seats is on the upper outer edge of the driver’s side, which just has a little
wear from getting in and out. The front
dashboard does not have any cracks and the rear package tray is solid. The 445 Wildcat runs nice and smooth and the
400 Super Turbine shifts just fine. It
does have a newer water pump, fuel filter, some hoses, master cylinder,
booster, and belts. The brakes will need
a good once over, I think it may be losing fluid out of one or two wheels. It does have factory A/C, however it is not
working. Also the headlight motor is not
attached, as it also does not work, but I do have it. As you see in one of the pictures, I’m
holding a Riviera emblem. I purchased
that, but never reattached it to the body, as it was missing when I bought the
car on the driver’s side. The driver’s
door does have a chrome molding that doesn't like to stay on, not a big repair
job. Sorry, I do wish I had better pictures, but the weather has not cooperated this week! Please send me any questions that
you may have about it, I would like to see the car move on to a good home.
