Description

Hi,
Up for auction is a positively stunning and rust-free 1995 Buick Roadmaster Limited with stainless steel wire wheel covers, heated front seats, climate control, radio/cassette/CD player, limited slip differential and of course, the power of the now-legendary 260 HP LT1 Corvette-based engine.

Two things set this automobile apart from the dealer-delivered version and give it an extra touch of class:
- stainless steel trim on the door posts, around the front fenders and along the entire length of the vehicle just under the factory-installed body guard trim; and
- professionally installed window tint.

A visual inspection of the car’s exterior reveals one rather small parking lot ding which, according to the previous owner, occurred a few weeks before I purchased the Buick. Except for that, it is a dent-free car. I’d like to attribute this to my fine driving habits, like parking far away from other cars. However, the car’s remarkable body is surely due to my wife’s disability permit which allows me to always park in wider parking places, out of reach of car-door kisses.

The car is registered in Canada but passed a New YorkState vehicle inspection in July 2014, a fact which could be of interest to prospective American buyers. By the way, there is no duty when importing a car from Canada into the U.S. Please contact your nearest border agency for complete details.

A nice feature of the car is its factory-installed dual stainless-steel exhaust system.

Points of note:
- never winter driven
- never smoked in
- never been in an accident
- never used commercially
- never repainted

Here are the car’s power-features package:
- power seats
- power windows
- power door locks
- power trunk release and pull down
- power steering
- power brakes
- power antenna
- power mirrors
- cruise control

If you are quite familiar with this model of car, you will know that the grey-coloured body guard trim can become loose over time and even dislodge completely. Rest assured that all the pieces are there and firmly in place thanks to a reputable body shop. You will also know that a hard piece of metal on the inside of the small side panel of the driver’s seat can cause a puncture in the panel material. When I took possession of the vehicle, I had extra padding installed there and solved this problem.

Again, those familiar with the ‘94-‘96 Roadmaster are aware of its fuel efficiency: on the highway, it gets about 25 miles to the U.S. gallon, a remarkable feat, given the size and weight of the car. Its body style makes for a low drag coefficient and contributes to fuel economy as does its computer-controlled fuel delivery system.

This vehicle has had two registered owners. I bought it from Bence Ford in Kaladar, Ontario in May, 2005. He, in turn, acquired it from the original owners there. They had purchased it new from the GM dealership in nearby Tweed, Ontario. As he and his wife (it was her car) decided to downsize to one car, they brought their Roadmaster back to the Tweed GM dealership to sell but the dealership wasn’t interested. Go figure. They had better luck with the Ford dealership, whose owner, Joe Benz, went to their home and found the car parked on carpet in their garage. A quick look at its fine condition and he went for it. Joe Bence listed the car in the Eastern Ontario Autotrader and was surprised to see how much serious interest the listing generated. Given the half-dozen suitors and my being over two hours from Kaladar, I counted myself lucky to manage to snatch it up.

I visited the original owner/driver to thank her for taking such fine care of the automobile and assured her that I would do the same. I can still recall that she was petite and even though the seat was height adjustable, she used a cushion or two to be high enough to drive. This addition likely didn’t make for a more comfortable ride though, because the Buick’s renowned Dynaride Suspension already has you riding as if on a cloud.

Meticulously maintained, both aesthetically and mechanically by both owners, this automobile still looks and rides like new. It has always been winter stored and was professionally detailed several times. The like-new ride is no doubt due in part to the four new Toyo Extensa tires installed in October 2014 and the new front springs, shocks and sway-bar links installed in November 2014. I have always heeded the advice of my licensed mechanic, repairing anything the moment any significant wear was detected. Also, when selling a car, I like to ensure that everything is as it should be so that the buyer is happy with the purchase and does not need to do work on the vehicle immediately after purchase. Although there is no warranty on the vehicle - it is a twenty-year old car - you can be sure that I have done my utmost to describe the car as it is and to have all systems fully functioning as they should. So, if you are expecting to put an additional 10% to 25% on top of the purchase price on necessary repairs, you will be disappointed.

Many people who have seen this car are amazed by its fine
condition. The odometer now reads 85,858 miles (or 138,176 kilometers). Much of this mileage is highway because the Buick was used for daytrips during holidays over the years.

Like the original owner, the time has come for us to downsize.
