Description
1996 buick roadmaster wagon collectors edition, this is my daughters college car the vehicle has been in new orleans for the last 4 years we bought it from the second owner who bought it from a little old lady who didnt drive the vehicle much and always garage kept the car.i believe she was from virgina (check carfax).the car overall is in great shape for a car 20 years old ,it would be difficult to find one in as great condition for an affordable price. this is one of 485 that were ever made in 1996 .this is a white woodie with tan leather the second most desirable wagon that can be bought.my first choice would be a black woodie with tan interior ,you have a better chance finding a unicorn than a black one with wood ,just my opinion .
the paint is in great shape and the wood panelling is very shiny the trim pieces around the wood is peeling but they all do this.
this car has no rust whatsoever. the interior is in good shape the carpets need cleaning thats about all.
engine is expectational just finish a course of rx cleaner (which is a good thing) .we just returned from a trip to california and back ,so yes i would drive this car anywhere with confidence. i averaged about 22 miles an hour at 65 for the most part with luggage and two adults.
engine a definite A .
the transmission is is good shape ,it does have one issue on accasions it has a hard change from 1 st to 2nd gear which is not uncommon for this tranny.
we bought the vehicle with this issue.I read extensively about it and still bought the car . there is a kit that can be bought that will fix it. we have had the car for 500000 miles and felt no need to fix it,other than that the tranny is very smooth and the oil was completely drained and renewed 4000miles ago.
The tires are in great shape 4 matching bf goodrich tires.
The air conditioning was rebuilt 3 years ago with an acdelco compressor.and works flawlessly.
The cooling system is completely rebuilt ,radiator , water pump, heater core, thermostat and of course new coolant, the temp gauge does not go past the first 1/4.
This is the big one,the opti distributor was changed at the same time as the water pump using the really expensive replacement part not the cheap after market one.
The vehicle comes with a full set of wires that i havnt put on the vehicle yet .
The battery is brand new 2 months old.
new front breaks and rotor .
I did upgrade the headlights so you can actual see at night , a half decent pioneer cd player with good speakers , you wont be blasting anyone out at lights or anything but it sounds good and clear and has a jack for ipod etc. i tinted the widows with a tasteful light tint that is legal in all states. same tint % all windows.
other than that the car is unmolested (thank god). i have had four of these wagons and my daughter got the best one . please any questions just email me .Come drive the vehicle if you want you are all welcome to come look, inspect etc. i'm personally obsessed with these cars and if i saw this one i would be frothing at the mouth. for an Affordable price this is a very good example of the 1996 collectors edition . car is in new york at present and will be picked up there. any questions just contact me.thank you
