Description
Ultra rare Triple black 1970 Stage 1 up for bid. There are dozens of GSX's (yellow or white) and red or blue GS stage 1's on the Stage 1 registry, BUT there are only 8 Triple Black Tuxedo with bucket seats on the registry(last time I looked). This project had been stalled for a few years and its time to deal with other obligations, so that said, you may never get the chance to own one of these to build back to perfection. Paint code 19B, Trim code 188 .
GS Historical Society documentation (Stage 1 triple black with bucket seats and auto console)
The motor and trans are not original. Not sure about the rear. I believe the motor is a 73 or 74.
A correct date coded 1970 engine comes with the sale
The correct Stage 1 carb date code # 7040246 LK 0720 comes with the car and the correct distributor # 1112016 date 9L4
OH, and if any one says its not a 4 speed, I got news for you, The car that made the Stage 1 famous on the 50 fastest list (Motortrend Jan.1970) was an AUTOMATIC. On the registry there are 4 triple black w/ bucket seat coupes w/ sticks, 2 conv. auto, and 2 automatic coupes, this being one of those 2.
This is a complete car with most of the parts being in the trunk, many of which can be reconditioned. I have an extensive list of NOS and original parts that will be offered for sale first to the winning buyer. This car is from Arkansas , but was new from Texas originally. It has been garaged or trailer kept since I had it.
I can help with transporting it up to about 500 mi.
