Description
I'm selling my 1968 Cadillac Convertible. Has automatic top, power steering, power
brakes, power windows. The following
have been replaced on the vehicle recently:
CarburetorAlternatorCharging System & WiringStarterBrake Master CylinderWater PumpFan ClutchRadiatorDriver Rear Window MotorShocksConvertible Hydraulic Rams
The car is 50 years old, so not perfect… please don’t expect this to be a “new” car! But it is a nice classic in driver condition. Gets plenty of waves and compliments every time I take it out for a drive! J
In terms of the “bad”… It has some rot and cracking issues behind the front wheels as shown in the closeup pictures. It does have factory AC, but is not working. And the instrument cluster does not work… so no working odometer, speedometer or gas gauge. It was revving up to higher rpm’s recently before engaging into 3rd. I took it to my mechanic, and he found a vacuum hose that was cracked that he said could affect the vacuum that indicated shift points so he replaced that hose. This seemed to work, but did happen one other time while I was driving it, so I took it to a transmission shop. They couldn’t identify any issues with the transmission, and it hasn’t happened since. I mention it simply because I don’t know what was causing this before, or if it will resurface at some point.
Again, it’s a nice car that gets a LOT of attention. It’s a desirable 60’s model Cadillac CONVERTIBLE! If you don’t like getting waves… people rolling down their windows to ask what year it is… one or more people coming to talk to you every time you take it to the gas station to fill up… then this is not the car for you! Haha!
