Description
1964 Cadillac Convertible: Reliable driver! The car runs well, shifts very smooth, and brakes without problems. There are no issues with over heating or motor problems (such as knocking or major leaks) . its a survivor that was maintenance and kept all original.
The good:
The car runs and drives great. Easily can be a daily driver, or Sunday cruiser. The original interior is still in place, and aside from the sun fading some of the color, the interior has held up well. The exterior is straight from front to back and the chrome is in good shape considering the age of the car. The doors are well aligned. The car was repainted once before (years before I owned it), so with a good wax and detail, the paint will shine like new.
The top goes up and down with out problems.
The windows all go up and down with out issue.
new door seals, window seals, and trunk seals installed.
The bad:
1. The rear driver quarter panel has some bondo work from the tail to the back of the skirt all under the belt line.
2. The driver door has some rust showing on the lower front corner of the door.
3. The passenger side rocker has a few bubbled up areas and bondo work from the middle of the rocker to the start of the skirt, all below the belt line.
4. Exhaust leak from the passenger side manifold.
The speedometer, gas gauge, and temp gauge all work. However, the clock does not work.
Lastly, the car is a factory AC car. The compressor is mounted, but the motor does not kick over when I turn on the AC.
