Vehicle Provenance
Single family ownership since purchased new in NY in 1970. Fair weather driver 1970 to 1986. Summer only driver from 1986 to 1995. Stored in NY from 1995 to 2007. Moved to So. Cal in 2007. Vehicle was passed on to an heir in the estate of the original owner in 2011.

Mechanically refreshed in CA in 2007 @ 67,000 miles: new: breaks, cylinders and break lines, gas tank flushed, new fuel lines, new carb, new power steering unit, full tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc) , all hoses belts and rubber under hood replaced, radiator rebuilt, all fluids flushed and replace, new u-joints and driveshaft rebalanced. AC serviced and blowing cold.

Vehicle Condition,

By example, the original AM/FM radio cuts in and out (mostly out), so it shows that while it is not reliable, it is not completely dead, (i.e. loose connection)

By example, the AC compressor works and blows cold, but the vacuum operated “climatizer” control unit in the dash has a vacuum leak and therefore does not control the push-pull vacuum operated dampers to control the air mix to set cabin temperature. The car is currently set to provide heat or no heat.

The car body and frame are mostly solid, but there is some rust on the rear frame-to-body mounts (located just behind the rear wheels) as well as some rust on the bottom side of the rear bumper. Look over the underside photos

The dash and door panels are NOT cracked.

The leather looks great and feels soft, but there is some scuffing at the driver’s left shoulder area.

The dash map lamp is missing.

The paint is pretty solid given the age, but there are accumulated paint chips, some touched up, some not.

So that is pretty much a list of what projects you might (or might not) want to tackle to pull the car cleanly into a #3 condition. Once again, 44 years, all original.

Lastly, I ask you…… Would Elvis drive YOUR car?
