Description

What a wonderful opportunity to own a quintessential, mid-century slice of Americana! Built when American auto makers were at the forefront of innovation and quality, the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz was the luxury auto brand’s flagship model.
This particular car has been out of circulation for decades. It was unearthed from a salvage yard where it had sat under a roofed structure for years. Fast forward two years and hundreds of hour of labor, this car has been restored to its former glory. Finished in factory Matador Red with black calf skin bucket seat interior, this Eldorado will turn heads wherever it goes.
The restoration is best described as top driver-quality. This means get in and drive it. Take the kids for ice cream and don’t worry about them spilling on your concourse, $100K Eldorado. The parts list for the restoration includes, but is not limited to the following items:
Complete brake system rebuild: master cylinder, lines, hoses, wheel cylinders and shoesNew fuel pump, filter and linesNew tires all aroundNew paint New convertible topNew top grain leather interiorNew carpetTune-up: spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all fluids changed.Complete carburetor rebuild. The overall condition is excellent for its classification. The chrome and stainless is factory and has been polished to a high luster. The paint shines nicely. All the glass is in great shape. Headlights, parking lights, turn signals, backup lights and stop lights work. Wipers work in all modes, and washer works well. Horn works. Convertible top goes up and down as designed. All gauges are operational. Generator light is on when the car is running due to the reliability upgrade from generator to alternator, however charging system is functioning properly. Heating and air conditioning controls engage the A/C compressor clutch and the blower motor as expected, but neither of these systems have been tested further. The radio powers on and emits a faint, crackly AM frequency. All power windows, including vent windows, and switches have been rebuilt and work well. The engine runs great and has a fully functioning cold-start idle control, which makes it a breeze to start in the cold weather. The coolant temp runs between 1/4-1/2 between C and H. The new braking system works well, and the transmission shifts smoothly into all gears.
The car has been primarily driven around my property since the restoration (due to winter setting in) and all my observations are based upon feedback from these test drives. There may be a few things that need further dialing in once you get it out on the open road, but every system on this car has been checked and my findings relayed to you, the buyer.
This is 1 of only 1,825 of these 63 Eldorado’s which makes this a rare find. Add bucket seats, and its nearly impossible to find another. If you are looking for all the prestige and driving pleasure of a mid-century classic without writing a Barret-Jackson-sized check, this is the Biarritz for you.
With all of this said, I recommend all buyers come and view the car before bidding, or use eBay’s service to send a qualified inspector down on your behalf. This is a used, classic car and is not perfect. However, I have described this car to the best of my ability. This car is sold as-is, where-is with no warrantees expressed or implied. All deposits are non-refundable. Clean MA title in hand.
