Description
RE-LISTED WITH A LOWER RESERVE. Bid with confidence, this is a nice car that is ready to be enjoyed.
Fresh from an estate in West Texas, adult driven 1993 Fleetwood was in dry storage for sixteen years. In 2004, the car was hit from behind when it was either parked or being driven slowly. Although the repairs cost only $3,645.71, the car was declared a total and the title was designated "Salvage Rebuilt." The primary residence of the family that bought this car new was Alaska where they spent summers and spent their winters in Lubbock, Texas. Purchased new in Lubbock, Texas, where it remained, the car was titled and licensed in Alaska. The Alaska license plates are included in the auction. When the car was declared a total, the Alaska DOT placed a tag on the title that required Texas to inspect the car before ownership can be transferred. In compliance, I trailered the car to DOT for inspection. For convenience, I had the Texas title transferred to my name. The Texas title is legal and could be transferred to a new owner.
The son of the family still lives in Alaska and has provided the information included in this auction. He recalls that the passenger side rear quarter panel, fender, and rear door are the areas of the collision. I have included a picture that may indicate part of the damage where trunk lid may have tried to go under the vinyl roof. No evidence of damage to the roof, which is in beautiful condition. Inside the trunk, near where a new quarter panel might have been attached is a small area of rust. I contacted the body shop in Lubbock that still does all the collision repairs and painting for Alderson Cadillac and verified that they were in business in 2004, when the repairs to this car were completed, but in 2009, the business sold and the old records were destroyed.
A local repair expert removed the car from storage and transported it to his shop where the gas tank was drained and fuel replaced, the oil, the fuel pump and battery replaced and the car started immediately. With one can of coolant added, the air conditioner works fine. The car is in excellent mechanical condition and the interior is flawless. All glass is good, no cracks in dash. Radio works. Original tires should be replaced before driving the car long distances.
Ebay questions answered promptly. Car is located in Lubbock, Texas 79416.
