For Sale: 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75, the top of the line, best car Cadillac produced in 1962. Beautifully engineered, great handling, and not just for a big car,
The 1962 Fleetwood 75: in 1962, the average YEARLY household income was in the $3500 a year range, this car sold new for over 3 times that. Fleetwood was synonymous with the best Cadillac offered and on this car the word Cadillac does not appear and only very discreet FLEETWOOD lettering about 1/2 inch high can be seen on the right part of the trunk lid, in one place only (!) on the acres of paintwhen one owned a Fleetwood, it was universally recognized as such and needed no introduction.
In 1962 Cadillac made the most cars ever, in the 120,000 unit range yet there were only 600 of this car, who knows how many exist now? Most of the few that remain are over restored and molested or rust buckets, this car being a solid #2 driver and unrestored cars are beginning to enjoy their own respect, the 'preservation' class now all the rage in car circlesAll 21 feet of her, majestic in motion. Good paint, excellent chrome, no rust. Some peeling on the roof but overall very, very presentable.
In order to work in the Fleetwood division of Cadillac a GM employee had to have been a 10 year employee before he or she would have been considered eligible for application to this elite division.
This car has the original wool seats and has optional air conditioning, and shows very well. Nine passengers can fit in this ride with stowable jump seats but it is really made for one or two to be very comfortable in the luxurious back section fitted with it's own air conditioning unit, seperate clock and no less than 7 ashtrays.
A list of recent work can be provided for the truly interested, if this car needed it, I spent the money on it, including fully rebuilt front end, rear main seal, new fuel lines, new brake lines, and new rear axel shaft bearings, and because of the great care this car has gotten over it's life it has never stranded me during a fantastic 7 week road trip off the interstate and most recently on a leisurely drive down 101 to Hollywood last weekend. Factory Cadillac Shop manual included.
Extra load rated tires at 85% tread, drive this car anywhere, you won't see another. 900 amp battery with disconnect switch.
THIS CAR IS NOT perfect, it is a solid 3+ 2- car, come take a look, take a drive and fall in love with the Queen of the road. Brakes solid, no pulling, shifts smooth, all lights work, windows work, really a solid ride.
Clean title, great running car, has Y.O.M plates black on yellow 1956 with 1962 sticker, complete binder of everything I have for her too.
Low baller, time wasting, tire kickers move along, the car is very fairly priced…intelligent conversations welcome, I might consider a trade too.
