Description

Up for sale is a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Four Door, Four Window Flat Top. It is a numbers matching vehicle in the original color, Wood Rose Metallic. I am the third owner. The previous owner had it garaged for 25 years prior to my purchasing it. Pictured, you will see the VIN tags, matching engine code and paint tag. It is a daily driver, currently on non-op.
This car is ready to go. You can drive it home today, and I even have the original factory keys. Where to begin?
Under the hood is a 390 cubic inch, 325 horsepower original engine that has never been rebuilt. From the bottom up, the oil pan gasket was changed, as well as all new fuel lines, radiator and heater hoses. New thermostat, thermostat housing, rebuilt water pump, rebuilt original Carter AFB 4bbl carburetor and rebuilt original fuel pump. New fuel filter, oil sender, distributor cap, points, rotor and plug wires. New horn relay, and rebuilt original steering gear box.
The battery tray was replaced with an OEM aftermarket tray and it has a new battery. Voltage regulator is new and the generator was rebuilt. The power brake booster was rebuilt, all wheel cylinders rebuilt, all flexible brake lines replaced and master cylinder is new.
The transmission was rebuilt locally and a new speedometer gear installed. Font inner and outer wheel bearings were replaced, drums all resurfaced and new brake lings installed all around. Tires are new, with original hubcaps in great condition. Fender skirts adorn the rear wheel openings as you can see. The fuel tank was removed and relined with Red Kote sealant, the fuel sender rebuilt and replaced and new fuel filler neck hose installed.
I replaced the drivers side wing window with an OEM replacement and had the head liner and visors professionally redone.
Vacuum lines to the AC/heater controls were replaced. Radio and power antenna are fully functional.
Wiper motor was rebuilt and wiper blades are new.
The A|C compressor needs to charged and the cruise control is finicky but not reliably functional. I have the shop manual in hard copy as well as an on-line digital version.
All power windows and power seats work. The interior was the final frontier that I never go to. The back seat is in good condition, while the front seat took the brunt of wear and tear over the years. The clock doesn't work and it drips oil from either the front or rear main seals after having been driven. That's it, warts and all. The price and reserve allow you to obtain a daily driver at a reasonable cost and the needed improvements won't set you back a small fortune. If you ever dreamed of owning one of these rarer models of 1959 Cadillacs (only 14,138 of them were made) then your dream may be about to come true. I have included a few useful links below for your edification. If there is something I missed or failed to cover and you want more information or specific photos of items you don't see, just ask. I need the garage space back, I had my fun with this car and am now ready to make you the next owner.
