1958 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe
Southern California barn find
All original, unmolested, with Meridian Taupe exterior paint and Salmon interior. VIN#58G065300. Odometer reads 08667. (Assumed to be 108,667.)
This 62-year-old survivor has been in storage for nearly 40 years. Last driven in 1984 by the previous owner (who was the second owner), who left the car to me after he passed away a few years ago. The car had some issues with the brakes and transmission back in '84 and the owner didn't have the money to repair the car so he stored it in his garage in San Diego with plans to fix the issues later. That never happened and the car was transferred to a barn in Ramona, Calif. (as seen in the photos) in 1997, where it has gathered time-honored dust ever since.
Body is straight with no dents or noticeable imperfections. Very minor surface rust on some of the chrome but no significant rust anywhere on the body. Interior is intact and in very good shape overall. Car is optioned with A/C, power windows, power vent windows, power seats, Autronic Eye--odd and unusual for a base model! (A/C compressor is in the trunk.) Note: car does not run and engine has not been turned over or touched. It will surely require complete mechanical restoration. Clear title. Have keys, owner's manual, some spare parts, etc. Will be available for pickup in early August in Ramona, Calif. after the vehicle has been carefully removed from the barn. Email me with any questions and I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. I am not on site, however, and getting certain info. may take more time than usual. I will do my best to provide potential buyers with information so they can make an informed choice. This is a very special car, an art-on-wheels beauty.
Sold as-is. Buyer assumes all shipping costs. Car will be moved from the barn to a private lot in Ramona for pickup. From there the car will need to be trailered/transported to its new home.
