Description

THE CAR:
Very nice 2000 Cadillac Seville SLS.
Bought this car for Mom in 2014.Sadly, she has not needed it since 2018 when a serious health condition sent her to the hospital and eventually a nursing home.Should have sold the car a long time ago but couldn't bring myself to do it Mom LOVES this car.I love it too but I'm starting to think I'd love having the other half of my garage back even more.
Mom's use of this car entailed driving the one mile to our local Albertsons grocery store and back home about once a week.I would always try to put a few miles on it whenever I put gas in it for her just to get things completely up to operating temperature.
This car is in very good condition and drives like a dream.Tires have just over 4,000 miles on them and look like new.Brakes are right at 2,500.Except for the items mentioned below, everything works on this car and it has more luxury items than I care to list.If you can think of it, it probably has it.Included is an extra set of floor mats I had bought for it but there's nothing wrong with the existing ones.
The Northstar V8 is an impressive engine, pulling this car's 4,000 pounds around with ease while still bumping up against 30 MPG on the highway.During the last oil change I noticed that the oil filler location offered a decent view of some of the internals.Impressed with how everything looked, I took a snapshot and included it in the photo album.I've been around engines all my life.At the risk of sounding like a salesman, I have to honestly say that the only other times I've seen the inside of engines look this good is when they're brand new no sludge, no deposits, nothing!Continuing to due regular oil changes, even when the car was being driven very little may have something to do with it.Included in the photo album is a screenshot of the maintenance records.
For more general information about the Seville model and the Northstar engine, here are a couple of Wikipedia links:
through the CARFAX history, it appears the car has always been in the Oregon Willamette Valley (no salt) and the car's condition reflects that, having absolutely no rust anywhere. In 2019 I did transfer the title to my company in Montana but don't worry, it's never been there.
A few items to mention:
*The steering column tilt/telescope ECM module recently stopped working. The part number is 16209790 and it's typically available on eBay for under $50.My intention was to take care of this but the steering wheel is set to a normal driving position so it wasn't much of a priority.
*Occasionally, when first starting the car, the info center on the instrument panel will display "SERVICE THEFT SYSTEM".Doesn't do it all the time, doesn't seem to cause any problems, and it's easily cleared but probably ought to be looked into at some point.
*The gear selector back-lighting under the "P-R-N-D-3-2-1" in the console no longer lights up but, even at night, it's not hard to see plus the gear selection is also displayed on the instrument panel.Probably just a bulb but I haven't had a chance to look at it.
*The center console metal ashtray insert is missing. As non-smokers, we never missed it.Probably a couple bucks from the nearest junkyard if you need one.
*The center console storage compartment latch is broken. Not a big deal since it just stays closed with gravity but if you ever get the car upside down, I suppose your sunglasses might fall out :)
To my knowledge, everything else works.AC blows cold and the independent settings for driver and passenger are wonderful wish every car had that!
Cosmetically, I've tried to catch any blemishes in the pictures. Most notably, there's a scuff on left side of the front bumper and a small scuff on the right tail light. There's a small crease in the black framing above the driver's door handle. There are a few small door dings small enough that I had never even noticed them until taking the pictures for this ad.Miscellaneous small scratches, particularly on the top of the rear bumper where people tend to drag things in and out of the trunk. Also some scratches on the mirror fairings. The rear turn signals are missing their clear outer lens but the only fix is to replace the entire assembly at around $75 each.Considering they work just fine the way they are, I've elected to leave them as is.On the inside, the leather wrap on the steering wheel and shift lever handle are wearing through in places. There are a couple cracks in the "P-R-N-D-3-2-1" console plate and a small one in the plastic trim to the left of the instrument cluster.A plastic grommet is missing from the passenger door air duct where it meets the dash when the door is closed but it still seals. That's everything I can think of.
FREE DELIVERY !?!?!
That's right to anywhere in the ("lower 48") United States and I'll even spring for the gas!
So why would I make such a generous offer? As a former long-haul trucker, I still love and miss being on the road. And currently as an airline pilot, it shouldn't be hard for me to catch a ride home.Delivering the car helps everyone out and gives me an excuse to make a road trip in a very nice car.I did this once before and it worked out perfectly.Living in Colorado at the time, I delivered a car to California. The buyer especially liked having the opportunity to actually see the car before handing over the cash and gave a glowing review of the transaction.Of course you're always free to pick the car up yourself if you prefer to do that.
TERMS:
DEPOSIT: $500 non-refundable* (since I'm buying the gas) due upon auction close by an agreeable form of instant payment PayPal, Amazon gift card, whatever.
PAYMENT (balance): Cash, due upon delivery of the car.
DELIVERY: I will deliver (drive) the car to wherever you are anywhere in the ("lower 48") United States. If you are out of the country, that's fine but you'll have to meet me at a place of your choosing within the United States. The only limitation is that we will need to meet with a notary public (sorry, the title requires a notarized sign-off).I can set that up as close to you as possible and I will pay the notary's fee.Delivery will be planned for the weekend following auction close, with the option to deliver during the second weekend following should the delivery distance be greater than 1,500 miles (so I can split it up, since I only have weekends off).Following delivery, a ride to the nearest airport would be greatly appreciated :)
*Exceptions: Should something catastrophic happen to the car prior to delivery (accident, mechanical breakdown, etc), the sale may be cancelled and in that case the $500 deposit wound be refunded.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!
This really is a nice car and I'm certain that whoever ends up with it will be a very happy camper.
