Description

Here's a VERY RARE opportunity to own a VERY RARE 1979 Cadillac Seville by Gucci. These beauties adorned the cover of the 1979 Gucci Catalogue. They were personally designed by Dr Aldo Gucci, himself. There's plenty of documentation chronicling the pride that Aldo took in designing this Cadillac. In his own words, Dr. Aldo Gucci explained that "this car was designed to give a fortunate few owners a rare possession of distinction, beauty and ultimate luxury". Only 200 of these limited production Cadillacs were made. In 1979 these retailed for $23,000! Who could have afforded these extravagant, ultra luxurious Sevilles by Gucci? Sammy Davis Jr. owned one. So did Luciano Pavarotti. David Ruffin owned two of them! Today, less than 7 of them remain roadworthy in the world. These Sevilles were built by International Automotive Designs and sold exclusively at Braman Cadillac in, where else but, Miami Florida =) This priceless, rear-wheel drive beauty has less than 20,000 original miles(that's right, ORIGINAL)! It starts right up and drives beautifully, as you would expect. It has all the bells and whistles and everything works, including the factory A/C. Although, it will need to be recharged. When you gently press on the trunk lid it automatically shuts the trunk. It will require some restoration. There is some surface rust, but nothing horrific. I have a brand new 5 piece rear bumper filler kit ready to be installed, as well as a original factory replacement for the broken rear passenger tail light. The original Gucci green and red stripe along the sides and back of this Seville are in surprisingly great condition. This vehicle even includes the original 36 year old roll of green and red Gucci replacement tape that came from the dealership. The roll is like brand new! It also comes with the original dealership-ordered dash/steering wheel cover. There is a minor dent towards the bottom of the passenger side rear door. This Cadillac has been rarely driven over the last 36 years, but after the original owner passed away it sadly just sat for over 12 years on the side of a house before being rescued (hence the extremely low miles). I've researched these Gucci Cadillacs for years. There is a fully restored one at the Gucci Museo in Florence, Italy. However, it is a 2nd generation 1984 Cadillac Seville by Gucci with front-wheel drive. This 1979 Cadillac Seville by Gucci is the only fully documented one I have ever come across. I have a copy of the original purchase order, as well as the original bill of sale (not a copy). Original portfolio of color sales brochures and original manuals included as well. On the 2nd day of ownership in 1979 the Gucci hood emblem was stolen. Unfortunately, to avoid this recurrence, it was replaced with the gold Cadillac crest. However, I do know where an original Gucci hood emblem can possibly be purchased. Additionally the second owner ,who bought this beauty after the original owner passed away, sold the 5 piece Gucci luggage set that was still in the trunk. This exotic, rare example of a Cadillac Seville by Gucci has spent its entire life in California. Here is your opportunity to be one of privileged few individuals in the world to call this 1979 Cadillac Seville by Gucci YOURS!
