Description
Up for sale is my factory RHD 1966 Chev Bel Air which is fitted with a 396ci engine, turbo 350 trans, duel fuel & power steering. The engine was rebuilt about 3 years ago which included new rings, bearings, hydraulic roller camshaft & lifters, timing gear set, oil pump, pushrods, stainless valves, valve springs, retainers & locks, teflon seals & 3 angle valve/head machine & roller tipped rockers. Some of the brands of the parts used include competition cams, manley, rollmaster, crane etc. The engine is also equipped with a MSD ready to run electronic distributor, Weiand inlet manifold, Holley carby, gear reduction starter motor, extractors & a 3 core aluminium radiator. The trans is a standard turbo 350. The diff is the factory 12 bolt. The car is fitted with a twin 2 1/2 inch exhaust system.
In the last 2 years the car has had new carpet/under felt installed. The F&R seats have been retrimmed at some time in the past. Some minor trim work still needed. The car has Weld wheels with new tyres fitted recently. The L.P.G. system is about 2 years old.
The car has a factory floor shift Impala steering column & steering wheel fitted along with a B&M floor shifter. Impala brake & accelerator pedals & window winder handles installed.
Within the last 3 years some of the front end bushes & ball joints have been replaced, but not all of them. All of the rear trailing arm bushes have been renewed. F&R brakes have been overhauled.(Drum brakes F&R) New windscreen also fitted.
The above description is the good things about the car & as you can see a lot of time & money has been spent on the vehicle, but it is nearly 50 years old & as such still needs minor things doing to it. The body has been painted from the windscreen forward as well as some of the doors but the rest of the body needs to be prepared & painted. Included in the sale is enough white 2 pack paint to finish painting the exterior of the car. In my opinion l believe the car to be about 98% rust free but the only way to be sure for yourself is to inspect the car. There is no rust in the floors, sills, F&R windscreen areas, rear quarter panels or boot.
Also there are some spare parts included in the sale which include doors, rear bumper, tail lights, rear bumper over riders & whatever else l can find that belongs to the car.
I have described the car to the best of my ability but l encourage, recommend & expect all prospective bidders to inspect the car for themselves before bidding.
The car is sold as is, where is & no warranties given as it is your responsibility to inspect the car prior to making a bid.
