FOR SALE RESTORED 1964 AUSTRALIAN DELIVERED RHD BEL AIR
WINNER of BEST AMERICAN SEDAN at the 2015 NOOSA BEACH CLASSIC CAR SHOW on October 4th 2015.
As featured in UNIQUE CARS MAGAZINE Issue 373 March 12 2015.
This is the perfect car for a collector or car club enthusiast and might just be the best example of a restored Australian 1964 Bel Air around! The recent extensive bare metal restoration of this 1964 Australian delivered RHD Bel Air, owned by a fastidious perfectionist, has only just been completed.
The car has done less than 500km since completion! All restoration and fabrication work was professionally done by the previous owners of Classic Ridz in Caloundra, Queensland with a photographic record and receipts. All repairs were are to the highest standards with no bogged up short cuts!
THIS CAR IS ABSOLUTELY LASER STRAIGHT WITH NO RUST AT ALL!!!
I’ve owned my girl for over 10 years now, with the restoration back to factory stock taking the last 2 years. Many, many thousands of dollars spent on her making sure I went above and beyond to ensure she is as close to possible as she was rolling out the factory door back in 1964.
An original code correct one colour car it has been freshly painted in factory Portsea Blue Metallic, with bone interior. All the exterior trim mouldings have either been replaced with OEM parts or tirelessly refurbished by Automotive Moulding Repairs & Polishing. It also has
brand new bonnet,
boot lid,
grille,
front and rear bumpers,
front and rear licence plate panels.
All NOS taillights were used in the rear and correct NOS dog dish hubcaps are included.
Inside the cabin there have NEVER been any holes cut for speakers or aftermarket radios and the door trims are still original. New carpet was laid and a new headlining installed. The seats have been recovered earlier on in the restoration but have been very well looked after since. The list of items that have been recently refurbished include
steering wheel,
original air chief deluxe AM radio restored by Nostalgic Wireless,
dash clock and the dash cluster restored by Lionel Otto Instruments.
Many new and refurbished parts inside including
new pedal covers,
window winders,
door handles and many nobs etc. were freshly chrome plated.
In the engine bay particular attention has been payed to ensure it is representative of a factory Bel Air as possible. The 283 engine has been completely rebuilt and balanced from ground up with the only modification being so that the heads could accept unleaded petrol and a harmonic balancer. The air cleaner has the original stamp (not the USA decal) on it that the Australian cars came with and all decals used are factory correct. Also rebuilt were
the original carburetor,
brakes,
power steering.
with the 2 speed Powerglide and diff only needing a full service.
The car has been rust proofed, had new rubbers and felts fitted and all the windows have had scratches professionally polished out. Extras include
the original manuals,
and an original refurbished 1960’s hydraulic jack.
The car is on Queensland club registration which cannot be transferred, but will come with a RWC.
Please note I will not accept PayPal as payment.
Inspections by genuine buyers can be organised on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. More pictures available on request.
