This Nomad is very special to
me. As a lifelong car enthusiast and collector, I have had a number of great classics over the years. This one is beyond nice, solid body, and must be seen to be
appreciated. It simply does not get driven enough and with the start of a new project, it's time for someone else to enjoy this wonderful vehicle.
The paint is like glass, so deep you could fall into it. This is a beautiful 1955 Chevy Nomad and truly an amazing ride. Built to be driven and runs all day on pump gas.
Engine: 1966 solid lifter 396 C.I. engine with new Holley 750 vacuum secondary carburetor (manual choke), Holly electric fuel pump, (separate cut off switch) and power steering. New Griffin large core aluminum radiator, and an electric fan with auto thermostat. MSD 6al ignition system.
Transmission: 4 Speed manual Transmission
Rear End: 9 inch Ford Posi-Trac, 3:73 gears, 28 spline axles. (40" wide, backing plate to backing plate)
Brakes: Power Brakes Front/Disc, Back/Drum
Body: Rust free body wet sanded and polished to perfection. It is straight and solid. Car was completely rewired with an updated modern electrical kit. Updated door handles/locks, exterior chrome, rubber, and weather stripping replaced throughout. California One-piece Bumpers.
Interior: Customized interior with tilt steering and Sport steering wheel. Updated heater/defrost fitted while maintaining original dash controls.
Suspension: Chassis Engineering four link with chrome coil overs. (33 X 21.50 rear tires), (165R15) front tires), Custom Weld Wheels.
Frame: Professionally modified to support large rear tires, Four link, and 9" Ford rear. 74 Nova sub frame front end with factory Disc Brakes.
Under Car: Headman large tube headers, 2 1/2" Flowmaster mufflers and custom fabricated exhaust.
