Description

This is a true barn find. Here is the story…There was this young man who purchased this car in the mid 70’s and at the time the car was in the middle of being restored. This man bought the car and had family members help get this car to his house. You would see this man smile from ear to ear because he was now the proud owner of his dream car. This young man had the dream of one day having time to restore his dream car into the beauty it was meant to be (or as he remembered when he was a kid). With this car parked in his driveway now, he would walk by his dream car every morning on his way to his factory job and smile and think one day…… (The dream of one day fixing this beauty up and driving his bride around the country, reliving the memories they had was going to be a beautiful day). Well his 3 kids grew up (often hearing their dad yell, don’t put your stuff on or near my car! Or, did you just park your bike next to my car!?) and moved away to start their families and this young man turned to a little older and knew the day was near that he would finally be able to start his dream of restoring this beauty. He would start the car and drive up and down the driveway, peeling out and slamming on the breaks at the end of the driveway. He would smile as he backed it up in the garage thinking the day is getting closer where hopefully “I will have the time to restore this beauty.” This man, not so young, and his wife (still looking young in his eyes), finally retired and he thought now is the time. Well the thing about the golden years is that sometimes they are not that golden. Even though it seemed to be the time to start his project of a full restoration, this older man realized that now he has the time but he doesn’t have the money. As he goes to his barn he sees his prized possession sitting there collecting dust, he has realized that it is not fair to have this true piece of Americana Car History sitting in his barn knowing that he will never have the money to do this car justice. So with that in mind, this now older man calls his daughter up and says I need you to do me a favor, can you list my car for sale on eBay? After she has picked herself up off the floor, she sits down to figure out how to sell her dad’s 57 Chevy. Here we are here now and here is your chance to bring to fruition the dream of bringing this car back to its original beauty. With that, if you have any questions that have not been answered, please call this (not so young) man at (740) 388-8600. This (not so young) man has a hearing problem (so speak loudly) but that won’t stop him from talking your ear off about this car. He is a bit confused about the last time he had it started (I think it has been it has been in the last 5-7 years) and he is a bit confused at how long he has had the car (I think it has been closer to 36 years he says closer to 40 years), but again, that all can be discussed when you call him. Here are the details you want to know:

This auction is for a 1957 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hard top Sports Coupe with a clear title. This car has ALL ORIGINAL parts but as you can see is in need of a restoration. It has been stored for the last 36-40 years (as you can see from the pictures and we won’t charge you extra for the vintage dust either). The bumpers are off the car but there are two complete bumpers plus there are parts for extra bumpers (restoration needed). There are 3 THREE extra front fenders all original and good shape. There is an extra driver side front fender and 2 extra passenger side front fenders (with minor rust that can easily be repaired). There are 64,246 ORIGINAL MILES with a 283 V8 engine with an automatic transmission (which means if you are interested so far, that little bit of information just made this car a whole lot better!). Original Black exterior paint (except passenger side door and front fender where the restoration was in process) with red and black interior. The seats are red and black with the dash and headliner red. Like I stated earlier, there are MANY extras (some not even listed) that come with this car and this not so young man is looking for someone who has the time and money. If you were going to restore a 57 Chevy to show quality this is the car you would want to restore. Hopefully you can make this not so young man’s dream come true and get this beauty on the road and make your own memories. Though this not so young man is looking to sell, he is not looking to give it away either (remember he does have kids who would love to see him fulfill his dream but understand his desire to let someone restore it to show room quality rather than it sit in the barn for another 40 years.) The reserve is $12,000 and there is no warranty. A 25% deposit is due within 3 days of the auction ending and full payment within 7 days of the auction ending. The car is picked up or the buyer has made arrangements to have the car shipped. This not so young man will get the car out of the barn for you, but is limited to assisting after that so buyer is responsible for any and all costs in shipping or loading to be shipped as well as any other arrangements that may be needed. Again, if you are truly interested, call Ervin (he is a real McCoy) at (740) 388-8600. He is eagerly waiting to answer any questions you may have. He also has this car for sale locally, so he reserves the right to pull the listing if there is a local buyer. This car is in GALLIA COUNTY OHIO.
