Very rare 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2 Door Sport Coupe!
Complete 2 year frame off restoration completed in 2005.
Always kept in climate controlled garage. Never driven in rain.
Body:
All steel with original panels and original tinted glass. Powder coated frame. Two tone white with black roof and tail. White leather interior and door panels with black carpets. GM tilt steering column. Customer stereo with Ipod jack, several amps and speakers and subwoofer. R134A Vintage Air conditioning. Classic Instruments gauge cluster. Original bumpers and stainless trim in excellent condition.
Chassis:
New Global west tubular front suspension with progressive springs and spindles. Power assisted CPP quick ratio steering box. New rear Global West rear suspension components with new leaf springs and all associated parts. Unique 17" off set polished alloy wheels with new Nitto tires. New Baer front and rear power assisted disc brakes with cross drilled/vented massive rotors.
Engine:
454 .030 over professionally rebuilt by local stock car engine builder. No expense spared. High performance ported aluminum cylinder heads. High performance camshaft with roller rockers. Polished 170 series B&M blower and intake with matched polished Holley 750 cfm carburetor with 2 fuel pumps. Complete MSD ignition system. Serpentine drive belt system. Custom powder coated headers with 3" stainless exhaust with 40 series Flowmaster mufflers. Dyno tuned at 630 conservative horse power with over 700 ft/lbs torque on pump gas!
Drivetrain:
Blow shield bell housing hiding high performance race clutch powering a close ratio 5spd HD Tremec transmission with a short throw Hurst shifter, connected via aluminum driveshaft to a power coated 9" Currie posi rear differential with a 3.50 gear ratio.
This stunning 55' is probably one of the nicest in the country! It can be driven or raced daily to and from car shows. Multiple trophy winner.
