Description
1956 Chevrolet 2 door sedan.
Built like an old school car from the late 1960s or early 70s. Professionally rebuilt 383 small block. 9.5:1 compression
with a Comp Cams XE274H cam. Rebuilt Vortec
heads with chrome valve covers. Less that 1000 miles on rebuild. Cool
sounding idle, but completely streetable.
No smoke or leaks. Turbo 350 transmission with higher than stock
stall converter. 3.42 gears in a 1981
Camaro posi rear. Outside the car looks
old school, but a lot of modern safety changes have been made.
The car has 4 wheel disk brakes, dual feed master cylinder, seat belts, roll bar, drive shaft loop, etc. The front end has been completely rebuilt with all new bushings, tubular control arms, tie rods, and ball joints. The steering box is rebuilt. The car has manual steering and manual brakes, but stops and steers better than any tri-five I have driven.
The carb is a new Holley 600 CFM, dual feed, vacuum secondary. It sits on a new Edelbrock Performer RPM intake.
The ignition is a brand new Pertronix Igniter 3 distributor, with a built-in rev limiter. The batter is an Odyssey, which is the best battery on the market.
The car has headers and dual exhaust with stainless steel mufflers. It sounds nice without being too loud to drive daily.
There is no rust underneath. The floors have not been cut up, and appear to be original. The trunk floor as well. The rear wheel wells are radiused, but still maintain the shape of a 56.
The paint shines nicely, and looks great under any kind of light or shade. There are a few cracks in the paint, but they are not obvious. There is a bubble in the paint behind the rear window and at the bottom of the driers door. You have to look close to see them.
The seats are original and were completely reupholstered in December in black and gray cloth. The headliner was replaced as well. The dash has a unique gauge cluster I have not seen before, with oil pressure, temp, fuel pressure, and voltage gauges. All gauges are older model Stewart Warner, and all work well. The factory speedo and fuel gauge work fine. The steering wheel is a late 60s era 4 hole chrome piece, similar to a Superior 500. These 4 hole wheels are very rare.
All 4 tires are new. The front wheels are 15x5, and the rears are 15x7. I will include a set of COPO Camaro hub caps that give the car a completely different look.
The front bumper is new. The rear is good, but not perfect. Both are straight and installed correctly.
I drive this car to work regularly, and nearly every weekend. It starts instantly, and has no trouble doing whatever speed is necessary on the highway. The lights, blinkers, and horn all work. The radio is a Classic Autosound unit that looks stock, but has AM/FM and iPod capabilities.
The car has original 1956 California license plates that are completely legal.
The car is crazy quick, although I have never raced it or beat on it in the least.
This video shows the car better than pictures: class="MsoNormal">I am not sure if the link will work through Ebay, so contact me if it does not work.
The car is not perfect, but it is very nice. It runs, drives, and loogs nice. It is unique, and people that see it love it. It has a clear California title. The reserve is set low. I want to sell due to a cross country move. This is the best deal on a tri-five you will find.
