1972 CHEVROLET K5 BLAZER CST
Up for auction is this awesome 72 K5 Blazer!! As I am sure your well aware of these first generation Blazers have exploded in popularity ans well as value. This is a great rig to get into without breaking the bank!! It's not a show rig that will demand huge dollars at the big name auction ,but could be with a bit of elbow grease and $$!! Or you can drive it just the way it is !! This rig came out of Las Vegas around 2004. It had had a partial restoration in the early 2000's. It has been driven and enjoyed the whole time since up until a while ago when it was parked in the carport for a few years and barley driven. That's when I purchased the rig. This K5 Blazer has some rare options and color code!! The original paint color was light yellow, not too many out there with this color option. It has had one repaint to a darker yellow. You can still see the original color on the firewall and under the dash. The paint is older and is showing its age. Has some small blem's here and there such as scratches, chips and some clear coat peel. That being said I get thumbs up and compliments every time I drive it. A new paint job would only add to the value of the vehicle. Depends on what you want to do with it? The body is really solid. The rockers were replaced at one point. The rocker boxes are solid as is the floor, windshield frame, rear floor, tailgate, quarters and doors. Comes with a nice double wall top with working hatch and no cracks. The glass is all in good condition as well. The original seats were re-done in houndstooth quite a few years back but are holing up well for there age. The passenger seat has one crack on the side and they could use a good cleaning. Still has the factory console that is in great condition for it's age. The previous owner installed a rather large stereo system with 2 6x9's, 2 10inch woofers and 2 8inch woofers with a large Soundstream amp and a nice CD player. All of the speakers are in there own boxes sand not cut into the body or doors. The motor is a 350 4blt with 1.94 heads,RV camshaft, dual roller timing chain, flat top pistons,Edelbrock airgap intake,New Edelbrock carb,MSD disributer,New Holley mechanical fuel pump, new water pump, new alternator, new belts and hoses, new battery,4 core heavy duty aluminum radiator. The motor runs great!! The Blazer does have all the original Air conditioning equipment in place but will need a service and charge. The motor has Headman headers with 2 1/2inch dual exhaust all the way out the back with Flowmaster mufflers. The motor runs and sounds great with no weird noises or smoke!! It's really dependable to say the least. I have been driving it around all summer in 90+ degree heat and traffic and it never lets me down. The transmission is a TH350 automatic with a shift kit that works great and shifts firm. Still has the factory transfer case that does it's job. The differentials are also factory with 3.73 gears and a posi unit in the rear. The front end was rebuilt a few years ago and has had a recent break job. Has power disc breaks and power steering. Sits on a 6inch lift with Rancho shocks and dual steering stabilizers in the front. The tires are 35/12.5/15 Cooper Discovers with around 70% tread life left. The wheels are Weld stone crusher copies. Also has a hidden hitch behind the licence plate. New fuel tank and sending unit, new brake lines and much more. This K5 runs and drives great! everything works accept for the A/C. If you have been in the market for a first generation K5 that is turn key and affordable this might be the one for you? Usually the affordable ones are rusted out or have been wheeled to death. You can drive this one and upgrade it as you go!! Now is the time for some summer fun in this beach buggy!!! Load up the family and hook up the boat and off too the lake in style!!
