Description
I have owned this K5 since 1992. I can tell you this truck has never been crashed more than the day it was left in neutral, by the first owner, then rolled into an orchard bumping into some peach trees and dinged up the grill shell. I used it for my daily driver for many years and am the second owner. This vehicle is NOT and never has been restored, only repaired thru the years. The engine is a rebuilt 350 with an Edelbrock intake and carb. New starter and fuel pump. The engine has about 500 miles on it and is not the original . The auto trans was rebuilt by the previous owner and seems to work perfectly. The Blazer sat for many years so I replaced the wheel cylinders, calipers, master cylinder and front brake lines . Also rear drums are new as well as pads and shoes. The disc brakes were added by the guy I bought it from. He told me they came off a 71 Pickup. I have replaced the old gas tank with a new one from LMC Truck with a new sending unit and straps. New tie rod ends for the power steering. The radiator was replaced just before I parked it years ago and the heater core is new. The tires are in great shape. All the glass is tinted and original(except windsheild). There are a few rust spots in the body at the usual locations and I have included pictures in the ad that shows where. The windsheild frame has some holes and will need attention on the next paint job. The truck is originally med Olive Green and was repainted about 18 years ago. The SUV was garaged for most of the time but the paint is in the condition you would expect an 18 year old paint job to be in, scratches, chips some surface discoloration and a few small dings. The Blue is a 1993 Stratus Blue from the Sonoma and Blazers of that year. The only aftermarket sheet metal on the exterior is the passenger front fender. The driver side rocker box and rear portion of the floor were replaced recently with panels from LMC Truck. The front seat is from a late model Chev Silverado and is split bench with the rear seat being the original with a black indian blanket cover and new armrests . The stereo is old but it works. The floor is bed lined black with new black carpet. I have the original front bucket seats, the spare tire mount and some original splash sheilds that come with the vehicle if the buyer wants them. I have new rubber for the top but it is not installed. In short, the vehicle has had a lot of work done to it over the years and will continue to require more work in the future. There is now a robust aftermarket of replacement and restoration parts available. I think for a nearly 50 year old truck it is in pretty good condition. I get compliments every time I take it out from" Cool Blazer" to "Beautiful ! "
