Description

Back in black is the theme for this modified, postwar Chevrolet coupe. Built along the lines of traditional Street Rodding, this 1950 model was customized back in 1990 with touches like frenched headlights and tail lamps, shaved door handles and a louvered hood. This 1950 design shows mild prewar-carryover motifs like bulging rear fenders and the high-cab design, but Chevrolet was already on its ascent to sales records in this decade. Devoid of excess chrome and logos, and with the bumpers color-matched to the body, today the car presents a near-sinister monochromatic appearance. This continues under the hood with mild accents on the high performance small-block 383 CI stroker V-8 engine, which uses a large K&N air filter, black Chevrolet valve covers, an Edelbrock intake with 4-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition components and headers coupled to a dual-exhaust system. The red-painted chassis adds to the impression of power. Behind the engine went a hefty Turbo 400 automatic transmission, with the driveline concluding in a stout Ford 9-inch differential with highway-friendly 3.08:1 gears. Suspension changes include modern rack-and-pinion steering equipment. Inside the car is rich red upholstery in vinyl with matched carpet, customized for this project. There is a split-bench seat, power windows, a tilt steering column with a Corvette-style steering wheel and a B&M T-handle floor shifter. The 1950 black dash and large round-faced gauge cluster remains in place. Rather than a shiny wheel package, the changes continue with red steel wheels equipped with chrome center caps and rings; these are shod in blackwall rubber whose substantial girth in the rear helps give the cars its considerable Street Rod rake. The beauty of Street Rodding is the way it allows each owner and builder to customize a car to their personal tastes. This car is ready for you to enjoy as it exists today, or it can serve as a canvas for your own automotive dreams. This black beauty won't last long, so stop in or emailtoday and put this street rod in your garage!!!FEES & TAX INFORMATION - We are a licensed dealer in the State of Florida and adhere to all state and federal laws and regulations concerning the sale of a used vehicle.
