For sale at NO RESERVE: Survivor 1975 Chevrolet C10, loaded Silverado with power steering, brakes, A/C, tilt wheel, etc. Purchased new at FrontierChevrolet in Billings, Montana and stayed with the original owner for 35 years, till he finally bought a new pickup. I've chatted with the original owner, who is 85 now, and he said this was the best truck he ever owned. After he traded it in, the truck spent the last 10 years in central Montana, where I bought it. Comes with the most complete set of original sale documents I've seen. Documents include owner card, manual, warranty booklet, 20 day sticker, maintenance schedule, copy of original title, original purchase contract, registrations, etc. Original keys, original jack and tools, and original under-bed spare tire carrier. Truck was treated to a rebuilt engine and transmission 3 years ago, and would be a nice daily driver. I'll do my best to describe this special truck below, please see the Flickralbum with detail pics including undercarriage.
Exterior: Driver quality, overall straight and presents well. I'd call it a 20 footer, original Grecian Bronze color is sharp and still shines up. During the original owner's tenure, the left front fender was replaced, and the door and hood were repainted. It's hard to see in the pics, but clear coat that was applied during that repair is peeling on hood. It's noticeable, truck would really need respray to be nice enough for car shows. There is a spot on tailgate where paint is baked. It is a dry western truck, exteriorrust is limited to a couple of holes inside box near tailgate, smallblisters behind rear wheels, and spot on passenger side lower cab. See linked Flickr album below. Underside looks good, only rust I can see is area right behind front wheels were mud packs on cab brace. Fortunately we don't see the horrific sitting-at-the-bottom-of-a-lakerot that's so often present on midwest and northeast trucks. The frameand body mounts on this truck look good, as does the windshield frame, cowl, and tailgate. Glass is good including windshield. Chrome is bright with no pitting. Again, check the detail pics including underside in the referenced Flickralbum below.
Interior: Original, clean, anddecent. No rodents or smells. Dash was always covered and it's in goodshape with a few small cracks near radio speaker. Lights, gauges, heater, wipersworking. Very nice stereo. Steering wheel upgraded to later comfort-grip wheel, I don't have original but they are not hard to find or expensive. A/C not working, compressor not mounted but included. Original seat upholstery is torn under seat cover. There is a small wood block under seat, not sure why. Original carpet is a bit faded but not torn up, original headliner sagging as is typical for these trucks. Overall very usable and functional rig, ready to drive as is.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well. Engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2018, few miles have been added since. The engine is a crate GM 350 with original four barrel carb and intake, pulls very strong with no noticeable smoke, noise,or major leaks. It was ordered through local dealer for $2751.46 and installed by a certified mechanic. Transmission was rebuilt by Brown's and installed by same shop on 9-7-2018. Have warranty paper on trans, previous owner stated he has receipts for $7500 in work but he hasn't located those. Truck works very well and would make a good daily, with the 3.73 rear it really gets up and goes and will bark the tires going into second gear. A/C compressor was not reinstalled when the motor was replaced, as is common here in the North country. Compressor and brackets included, hoses were not cut. Lights, gauges, heater and wiperswork. Left fuel tank hasn't been used in a while, I'd drain that before using. Running off right tank. Tires are pretty old, plan on replacing them. As with anyolder vehicle, it willneed maintenance andrepairs along the way. If you live inastate with very strict vehicle inspections, they will no doubt andsomething for you to fix, so expect that. These trucks are noted forreliability and build quality, and are fairly simple to work on withgood parts availability.
