the truck is located in Dripping Springs, Texasabout 25 miles west of Austin, TX
this truck is ready for you to install your own engine, trans, radiator and driveshafti have labeled all the under hood wiring so you can easily install another big block, small block or LS or whateverthe MSD is in place and set up for an MSD HEIthe electric fan relays are in placethe POL tubular motor mount perches are still therethe CPP tubular trans crossmember is there as wellyou could have this running/driving in a weekend if you have an engine/trans ready to go ineverything is in place..all the wiring is new with an American Autowire wiring kit
about this '70 Chevy C10 short bedI built this truck as a ratrod that i could just get in and drive without worrying about whether i got rock chips or scratches..it's rusty, it's crusty, it's got scratches, dings and dents, and it's cool as hellpeople walk past all the polished trailer queens on cruise nights to check out this truck.it was built to resemble a 70's barn findfrom the old school tach (that works) to the crusty old 15x7 and 15x10 Cragarsit screams old school..
the first 14 photos were taken this weekend 9/25-26, the last 10 photos show it in various stages as was built frame off ..for tons more photos, got to my IG page, look under bigblockcasey
the front suspension has POL tubular A-arms, all MOOG steering components, Western Chassis 2" drop spindles and 5 lug disk brake conversion, and 3" drop springsKYB shocksI swapped in a 5 lug 3.73 rear end (non-posi) out of a '72, added 5" drop springs, and 1" spacers along with an adjustable pan hard barI swapped the trailing arm crossmember for a new dropped-center unit with cut outs for 3" exhaust, and welded stiffening plates to the stock trailing armsall new bushings throughoutadded an LMC rear bed mounted fuel tank and filler neck
I set the cab on the frame with new mounts, added sound deadener, new carpet, recovered bucket seats with a painted aftermarket console, all new American Autowire classic update wiring harness kit from front to rear with the updated blade fuse panel, under dash MSD box, new ignition switch, old school gauges into the dash and an old school tachall the gauges workall of the lights work.all wiring is labeled and marked (even the under hood wiring so you can install the drivetrain of your choice easily)also added a tilt steering column with an old school Superior 500 steering wheel, a new dash pad, and a B&M truck shifter
the original bedwood was completely rotted, so I bought a couple of new cross sills and new metal hold down strips, cut some plywood and made the new bed floor and painted as the factory didI cut down the dealer rear bumper brackets to tuck the bumper tighter to the body
after installing a new CPP Midnight Series brake booster and master cylinder and new front brake lines, I set the front clip on, added some new hood hinges..
All new lenses used front and rear, new headlightsnew windshield and rubberoriginal door glass and rear window, but new window rubbers, run channels and door weatherstrips
**again, this truck is rusty and crustyit is sold as a rollerthere is no engine, transmission, radiator, or driveshaft You will need to bring a trailer with winch to pick it up, or have shipped as "non driving". I have a friend who may be able to deliver to you anywhere in the Lower 48msg me for info.
