1969 Camaro Big Block 396
I found this car 2 years ago and had a chance to buy it 3 months ago. I don't know anything on the back history but from photo from previous owner of the rebuild back in 2000. The car was sitting next to a garage for 5 years a tarp. The car is a great driver car, not your perfect show car but I do take it to shows on the weekend when weather permits. The interior is in excellent condition, I have done nothing to the car but install a gas tank and get it running. The engine runs strong and is a 396 out of a 1970 Chevelle. During the rebuild back in 2000 they only used 14 gauge metal to repair floor, behind both the driver and passengers seats and one in the truck. I do have new floor patch panel for both sides and truck. Headlights ,dash, console, running lights, blinkers and blinker switch all word. Original radio still in car but does not work, have not looked into why. So the car sits just the way I got it for now but do have it scheduled to go in the fab shop in October then paint. My wife and I just purchased another house and just looking to add some upgrades is the only reason I'm selling the car.
There is no rust on the exterior of the car or body filler as I went around with a magnet. But the inner fenders in the back have rust from sitting in mud for 5 years (is why I needed to replace the gas tank rust threw)
The restoration cost I was giving to make the car show quality is 10 to 12 K, that is for any body work needed plus show paint. So I'm offering the car at a good price, if you just want to cruise and enjoy great, but if you budget allows you to restore to show quality that's great too. Looking on ebay at what people are asking for no running or rolling cars or need total restoration is amazing to me.
I also have new parts that I have purchased for the restoration that I'm willing to sell to the winner of the car at a discount.
