Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is proud to offer this very hot Torch Red 1977 Chevrolet Camaro. A bit of a restomod, this Torch Red 1977 Camaro has received quite the makeover. Starting with a complete disassembly, this beauty was given the royal treatment. A fresh GM 350 CID V8 crate motor and GM 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission were chosen to give it more power and better drivability than it no doubt came with, back in 1977Let's face it, 1977 wasn't one of the banner years in the horsepower wars. This Camaro likely started out with a 2-barrel carb-equipped 305, with a whopping 135 horsepower, like the author's had (yes, my first car was a '77 with that drivetrain initially). However, this one was taken apart and completely redone. This '77 sports a gleaming paint job with nary a blemish, and that bright red just jumps out at you. The chrome is in great shape, and the entire interior has been freshened. Under the hood, that new 350 received lots of chrome goodies, along with a polished Edelbrock Performer intake, and the engine bay looks great. The old adage, "if it don't go fast, put some chrome on it" doesn't apply here, because this one has some git down to it going on! The coated long tube headers lead into a dual exhaust with X-pipe and FlowMaster mufflers, so when the loud pedal is smacked to the floor, you'll be announcing your presence with authority while you snap through the gears with the B&M QuickSilver ratchet shifter. The serpentine accessory drive system helps simplify things underhood, and the giant BeCool aluminum radiator with its twin electric fans keep the mill happily in the "green zone" while you're out pounding the streets. A 4-wheel disc brake conversion (with drilled rotors in back) helps haul this beast down from triple digits much better than its OE disk/drum setup. A set of sticky unidirectional Sumitomo HTR performance radials wrap its American Racing Torque Thrust mags (275/40ZR17 up front, 315/35ZR17 out back), and provide better handling than it did when new; plus, they add to the cool look with a nice stance improvement. The Z28 hood also improves the overall look. Inside, the interior is nearly all new, with only a few bits looking like 1977 parts. The rest - carpet, seats, headliner, console, dashall look like new old stock. Both the front bucket seats and the rear seats have a nice combination of cloth centers and synthetic leather side bolsters, giving a vintage vibe and comfort at the same time. The carbon fiber-look dash houses a full set of AutoMeter gauges in the factory locations. This is a nicely done restoration, and it turned out much better than it left the manufacturing line! Don't let this vintage '77 Camaro slip past you - buy it and steam past those who regret not acting before you did! Additional features and options on this 1977 Camaro include Air Conditioning, Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD/XM Radio with Bluetooth, Power Brakes, Power Steering, PosiTraction, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, Tilt Steering Wheel, and Vinyl/Cloth Interior.
